Amber had a strong backing for her solo and it was a good mini so if SHY can have a strong backing too then what's the problem? Amber imo was a gamble, like fx it didn't seem the promotion for her was very much? I mean if they aren't doing much wth fx who they experiment on, I don't know why they would focus more energy on one member, just my thought. At worst Amber had her chance at a solo which may satisfy her need of whatever to prevent her from leaving the group and then the company. At best she hits gold and SM makes money, thus the gamble idea. Back to the subject on SHY, I would take this with a grain of salt. I think the problem lies in if members of SHY actually want to be in a subunit or if SM isn't convinced that they will make much money. I talked about this with a friend and we came to some idea that SM (sadly) only wants TTS as the subunit of SNSD. Not opposed to another subunit but perhaps no other subunit would be as marketable as TTS, so to prevent conflict of interest within or out of SNSD, they just leave TTS as the main (only) subunit. I do see some remedt to this problem unforunately it would require someone from SHY to pull a taemin. Or sadly, that TTS loses their hype and SM makes another subunit to try and earn money off other combos. Aside fom SHY I don't see Sunny or Yoona doing a subunit, so again back to my theory on why SHY maybe a no show in light of TTS. Frankly, I was worred that Sooyoung in particular would be a strain to the idea of SHY, possibly and Yuri. Sooyoung because of her acting career and Yuri because of her lack of passion she tends to have on stage, leaving Hyoyeon the only member who I would feel has a more secure spot in said unit.
