#1 Chinese Director Zhang Yimou Celebrates 65 Birthday with "The Great Wall " Cake

Zhang Yimou is a Chinese film director, producer, writer and actor, and former cinematographer. He is counted amongst theFifth Generation of Chinese filmmakers, having made his directorial debut in 1987 with Red Sorghum.


Chinese director Zhang Yimou celebrated his 65th birthday with his wife and children on Thursday.

Zhang’s wife Chen Ting posted a heartwarming post on her micro-blog account with photos showing Zhang, Chen and one of their children celebrating together. 


"Happy birthday, father of our children! Please spare no effort to make 'The Great Wall' a good movie, and leave the little family stuff to me!" Chen wrote. The post soon generated huge buzz online.

The photos also depicted a Great-Wall-shaped birthday cake.


Zhang's upcoming international science fiction blockbuster "The Great Wall" began filming on March 30, 2015. The cast will include Chinese movie stars Andy Lau, Zhang Hanyu, Lu Han, Jing Tian and American actors Matt Damon, Willem Dafoe and Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal. The film is scheduled to be released in November 2016.

I've only come to watch the Flowers of War since I'm a fan of Christian Bale. 

 

That film was horrifying. Like it was great but damn some of those scenes :cry:  .

 

I've watched Hero, House Of Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower. I'm a wuxia nut lol.
