or has it always been a trend? It just seems like all the rookie girl groups recently always perform at least one english song on radio shows.

I've seen it more with rookie girl groups these days but in general its nothing new to me. My biases were covering English songs when they were nugus too. I think that's where Lovelyz kind of took after them, as in it was a way Infinite got exposure so Woollim are probably doing the same with their girl group. Not sure about the others.

Maybe you're new to kpop, but this was always done. Although, I get sick of covers from the top 40 i would rather songs that are out of the box. Something that showcases a different side and not make it glorified karaoke.
