At first glance, thecross is a hideous and horrible tool. In our humanwisdom, we could never visualize using mancrucified as criminal scum to capture the hearts ofthe world. But God does. The cross transcendscultural boundaries, overcomes language barriers,and reaches across racial differences. The cross isGod's demonstration of foolishness and weakness,and through it he conquers death and brings ourheart to him. My Prayer...On this day, Father, when many people play gamesand tricks and play the fool, I am powerfullyreminded of your "foolishness" and "weakness" atCalvary with Jesus. Words cannot express howpowerfully they have touched me with your love andfilled me with the assurance of your grace. Thankyou! I am utterly amazed that you would love me so.In Jesus' name I pray.
