Has anyone here done an Informational Interview ?

An Informational Interview (also known as an Informational conversation) is a meeting in which a potential job seeker seeks advice on their career, the industry, and the corporate culture of a potential future workplace; while an employed professional learns about the job seeker and judges their professional potential and fit to the corporate culture, so building their candidate pool for future hires.

I've never done one, but it sounds very nerve-racking. Good Luck though, I'm sure you'll do fine!

yess I had to do one for my class....luckily it was with a young entrepreneur not too much older than me and it was over skype so it wasn't so nerve-wracking

 

I can give you the questions my teacher suggested from my assignment paper if it helps ^_^ 

 

 

 

- In the position you now hold, can you describe your achievements on a typical day?

- How long does it usually take to move from one step to another in this career path

- What aspects of a career in this field do you consider positive or negative?

- What personality traits does this company specifically look for? 

- What is the best way to obtain a position that will start me on the career path in this field?

Oh lord Skype !!! Thats even more nerve wracking ! I had to do a video interview one time… Never heard from them again LOL (i guess i have a trauma) Also one of my old TAs told us to Skype him if we ever needed to ask a question and was all like ah hell na   But seriously thank you so much for your input  and all those extra Q's 

 

Gotta believe in my self !!!!       I CAN DO THIS GUYSSSS
