Variety is reporting that singer/songwriter Wang Leehom will star as the titular hero in Magic Storm Entertainment's upcoming film Annihilator, based on the character created by Stan Lee. Barry Josephson has signed on to produce the film from a script by Real Steal scribe Dan Gilroy.

Annihilator tells the story of a young Chinese expatriate, Ming, who must choose between remaining in prison or enlist in a secret US super soldier program. The program uses targeted genetic enhancements from various animal species. Ming chooses to undergo this nearly fatal procedure and through his extreme resolve, gained as a result of his family’s tradition of practicing Qijong and martial arts, he survives. Now, armed with remarkable abilities, he must confront a former rival with his own set of enhanced faculties. Our reluctant hero is forced not only to face his personal demons, but also to defeat the villain who will destroy everything that he knows and loves.

not that thrilled, the role seems a little too typical of a stereotypical asian character even if is a superhero, and they probably just want that Chinese box office casting him. But I don't think Leehom would sign up for a film that he's not confident in so... or the super hero loving side of him got the best of him

I'm more looking forward to the Hollywood movie, Cyber, he's filming right now with Michael Mann as director and Tang Wei,Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis. It seems much more interesting frankly or better thought out. Plus Tang Wei and Leehom again, even though it's as brother and sister this time. And there's even a Tang Wei and Chris Hemsworth love line.

Plus would really rather have a new album
