Starfire. 1,317 Posted March 29, 2015 Share Posted March 29, 2015 SoulCalibur (ソウルã‚ャリãƒãƒ¼ SÅruKyaribÄ?) is a weapon-based 3D fighting gamedeveloped by Project Soul and produced by Namco. It is the second game in theSoul series, preceded by Soul Edge (1996). Originally released in arcades in 1998, it ran on the Namco System 12 hardware. In 1999 it was ported to theDreamcast with improved graphics and new features. The North American version was released in September 1999 as a launch title for the Dreamcast and was part of the successful launch of the new console. It became available as a downloadable title on Xbox 360's Xbox Live Marketplace in 2008. Developed closely with Namco's Tekken development team, it is one of fewhome console ports that outdid their arcade parent graphics-wise. The title brought many innovations to the fighting game genre that include a heavy emphasis on weapons and a unique eight-way movement system. Soulcalibur is widely regarded as one of the best Dreamcast titles and is one of the most critically acclaimed fighting games of all time. Heart and Seoul 1,218 Posted April 19, 2015 Share Posted April 19, 2015 OMG YAY there's a Soul Calibur thread I just noticed a Mortal Kombat one and thought how nice it would be to have a Soul Calibur thread, and there it was lurking at the bottom of the page haha My favourite (technically it's the only one I've ever played but oh well lol!!) game is Soul Calibur II on Gamecube, that game has given me SO much fun over the years it's not even funny My best character turned out to be Talim, and actually I liked all the girls but my favourite characters overall are Taki, Maxi and Seung Mina My brother's best characters were Kilik (his main) and Mitsurugi whom I loathed cause he always abused the Damascus Sword with him lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
