[WTF] Reborn Babies (Silicone "baby" dolls)

I'm freaked out.

reborn doll is a manufactured vinyl doll that has been transformed to resemble a human baby with as much realism as possible. The process of creating a reborn doll is referred to as reborning and the doll artists are referred to as reborners.[1][2] Reborn dolls are also known as living dolls or unliving dolls.[3][4]

TL;DW: People look after these dolls as they would their children, feeding them, burping them, putting them to sleep, etc... You can also customise the colour and looks of the dolls with the makers too, and they look extremely lifelike.

It was actually really freaky watching it, and seeing how much time and resources people would put to take care of the dolls.

How do people do this?

(if the video is too long, you can watch a bit of 16:45 etc, that part was weird to me)

Not surprised, some people find weird things to fixate on (not judging) but I am a little surprised at how many people share a similar taste in having fake babies to care for - it just makes them seem like older versions of those little girls you see taking care of plastic babies (something I never found appealing either but whatever).

That's true. I guess fixation on baby dolls can help some people lead happier lives, but the thought of it, and the pretty sizable community of people that do this is troubling, especially if we consider it in light of the declining world populations in developed countries, where these dolls are usually owned and taken care of in (though this number is probably statistically insignificant). I mean, people take care of dolls like this rather than actual babies (if they can have babies themselves, or adopt)?

Edit: actually i think i was going off on another tangent.

I don't know, i feel like it's a regression of society.

some people just love babies, and these fake dolls don't age like humans do
