Not a huge fan of the song but...the vocals are really rough. I wonder if this is the final version

vocals are supposed to sound like that...

she sounded similar on moments of fourfiveseconds

rough raw unfettered vocals this time around ... but i can understand it more for this song... it's called "bitch betta have my money" ...

If anything it sounds more like confirmation that she can't sing and they skipped out on vocal editing and they're trying to spin it in some effort to make her seem like a ~true artiste~.

why skip out on vocal editing though...when they've done it her entire career and she's been successful?

More likely... being that Rihanna is a pop star... she is vetting trend...which is typical...

listen to what sound is hot right now in urban... Young Thug... Rae Sremmurd ... Migos....they are all doing that raspy squeaky diction-lite imperfect lazy sizzurpy puberty  Lil Wayne sound.... Rihanna is singing it instead of rapping it.

there are too many girls still doing the cute pbrnb... like Tinashe and Jhene... Rihanna already dabbled in that trend to an extent.

I'm not saying she'll be successful in this new style endeavor...i'm just there's a current basis and model.

I don't really see it catching on. And Rihanna's whole point is to sell so...

maybe it won't catch on to her pop consumers....but people always gripe when she's nominated for urban awards... i think urban demos will like it...especially with remix and feature.

I don't think Rihanna's point is to sell exclusively. She's done that. Personally, i'm all for artists who have already amassed fortunes, trying new things at the risk of polarising there typical demos....which i don't even think she'll do with this album.

She's pocket to a music powerhouse...... even a "flop" would be buckets for her and RocNation...TEA and tour. She can pretty much do as she pleases at this stage in her career with zero fear of actual failure...so...why not.

But why not make a good song from jump? Why this need to get it remixed and get a feature?

And like you said earlier, it's not anything new. New for her, but not new.

it's snippets...who knows if it's a good song or not... and since that's subjective anyway... she and her team probably think it's a good song...which is why it made the album is set to release as a single. What's a good song what's a bad song and how do you know before you know for certain get general feedback?

True...i didn't say it was new in premise...she's a not an independent concept artist, nobody makes music that nobody hasn't made before them...not relevantly anyway....i meant it's new for her...i'm all for artists who can afford to, doing things that aren't exactly the same as everything they always do. Rihanna has done this before tentatively...she typically does. Doesn't have to be in extremes. I don't expect her to release a country album.

But again, why this need to have a remix and a feature if it's good from jump? You saying that made it seem like the song was bad.

no, i just meant it sound like the type of song where you could give it second life or elaborate on the concept relevantly by throwing someone like Young Thug on the track... if anything i mean it's versatile for urban market. By remix i meant a feature artist.

"No Flex Zone" didn't need a remix ...it past from viral to hit on its own...but Nicki got on it late and gave it second wind...just because it would sound hot (not saying it did sound hot originally or after)... but revisiting a track doesn't automatically mean it's weak to begin with..........

i'm liking it so far, it sounds like something from Rated R era.

and i don't get the hate for FFS, it's still a fucking jam to me.

and who is that hottie black guy though?

Kanye ruined FFS, if they release a version without him on it, then I'd buy
