^ I know, right? He seems to have loss a lot of weight and he looks really exhausted lately. I'm not complaining, since I'm really happy that he has solo activities. But poor baby has been working non-stop since early this year, I hope it doesn't take a toll on his health.

Also guys, I'm thinking of re-doing the OP soon. I have some free time in the next couple of days.

Maybe you could help me add new appearances and stuff.

Also, I'm thinking... new name for the thread??

LIVING IN THE MOMENT

“I will live giving my best every single moment!†And so, 24 year-old Chansung’s everyday life is special.

VOGUE GIRL (V.G.): It seems that lately, we meet you as actor Chansung far more often than as a 2PM member. Your movie “5 Deoksuri Siblings†was released just recently, right? Right before that, you participated in the movie “Red Carpetâ€. It feels like you’re trying out everything as you act regularly and take up anything, even if it is a small role.

Chansung: I’m like that. I don’t really make a distinction between small or big roles. Nitpicking over a role’s importance is kind of an actor’s ambition, but if the actor is too greedy it might spoil the entire movie. Shouldn’t the piece you’re working with be your utmost priority? Therefore, if I see that I have an over-packed schedule or that I could cause trouble to the production, I sometimes decline the offer.

V.G.: Now that you have quite a good amount of acting experience, do you feel it has a different charm compared to activities as a singer?

Chansung: I do. Both have really different charms. Standing on stage and appearing on screen, both are important to me.

V.G.: You acted in two movies one after another, are there some unforgettable memories?

Chansung: After “Red Carpet†preview event, we had an after party together with the staff members, and someone said this: “It’s out of our hands now. Now it’s only up to the viewers to appraise this movieâ€. This was a great expression. During the film making, a lot of things change according to the combined efforts of the actors and the staff members, but once it’s out in the theatres, the fate of your work is out of your hands.

V.G.: When we watch your latest movies, we can tell that you have really grown a lot as an actor. Rather than thinking “Acting got betterâ€, you have a strong feeling that says “He’s good at actingâ€.

Chansung: Really? (laugh) I don’t know about it. Rather than thinking I’m good at it, I just enjoy every single moment. “Red Carpet†was my first movie, but when I watched the complete version, instead of personally assessing my acting, I just enjoyed watching it from the third person’s point of view. I was more concerned about enjoying it to the fullest than thinking “How was my acting back then?â€. Just like the phrase I’ve mentioned previously, when the movie is released, it’s out of my hands.

V.G.: Have you always been so straightforward? Or has your character changed over time?

Chansung: It might as well have changed. Actually, there are things I regret about, but you can’t ruin yourself the pleasure of watching a movie by thinking about things of the past.

V.G.: I see you’re the type who enjoys his job. That’s why you look very comfortable when you’re acting and even now when we’re just talking.

Chansung: I believe that we have to live happily if we can. I think that nowadays, compared to previous years, I can work comfortably with a smile on my face. However, I often think that there are still so many things I have to learn. There are many things I have to pile up inside, so that I could digest various roles.

V.G.: When we take a look at your SNS, you seem to like taking photos more than being photographed. There are a lot of sky photos alone.

Chansung: I want to record the things that I find beautiful that very moment. For example, even now, that dazzling sunlight above the tripod looks beautiful. I want to have things like that in photos. There are many sky photos because I like looking at the sky. It might be the same sky, but every person has a different perspective.

V.G.: You take good photos of your members too. Especially, it seems like you know the angles when the members look the best if we take a look at the photos you took during rehearsals. It’s probably because you’ve spent so much time together, right?

Chansung: Even if we’ve spent much time together, sometimes they simply zoom past me in a blink and I just shoot them like that. I shoot during rehearsals when I don’t have to be on stage. Then the members tell me not to take photos with “Ah, why take photos again? So troublesome~â€, but even so, I can tell that they are conscious of the camera (laugh).

V.G.: Recently there was this “Spaced out competition†event and you left the link on the SNS saying that you laughed a lot when you saw it on the news. You’re far more sentimental than it seems, but you probably don’t really have time to space out lost in the feeling of the moment, right?

Chansung: There’s really a lack of time for that because I’m very busy, but I posted the link because I think that everyone should have time for that. You need some time alone to heal your heart, but it’s true that modern people don’t really have such luxury. When you use SNS often, eventually you realize that even when you’re on your own, you’re not really alone. So, as a result, you can’t stand being alone. Actually, I think that people with high self-esteem don’t really need the SNS because they can go on even if no one keeps watch over them. Of course, I also think that it is necessary to some extent to communicate with others via the SNS, as long as it doesn’t fall out of hands and you don’t become scared of being alone.

V.G.: You’re in your mid 20’s. You’ve experienced the social life a bit earlier than the friends your age, and you’ve been busier than anyone else. Could you give a piece of advice as an experienced person who took a step towards your dream first?

Chansung: Recently, during an interview I was asked “What do you think one should do: something one likes or something one’s good at?â€. I said that, as far as “being good at something†is concerned, one should first think whether he thinks he is good at something, or someone else thinks he is good at something. It’s okay, if it’s something that the person himself thinks he’s good at, but if it’s something the others say he’s good at, I would say, do what you want to do. If there’s something you’re doing of your own free will, and you become good at something else, I wish it remains your hobby. You have to think carefully about all the reasons why you want to undertake this other thing you like. I also wish you would always remember that the most important thing is to be happy with the results of your work, disregarding how much money you make for it. I think that money can never be the criteria for happiness. I’d like to say that once you have been born, you have to constantly keep on looking for happiness. And I wish that you would work on believing in something you like, as long as you have the strength to cultivate your happiness. If you do so, you will have no regrets.

V.G.: Doing something you’re good at and doing something that you like. Then, Chansung, which situation are you in right now?

Chansung: Surprisingly, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. Before I entered my current company, there was nothing I would’ve wanted to do. I like sports, so when I was learning taekwondo and kendo, I did think that perhaps I should set up a studio later on, but when I take a look back at it now, instead of doing it because I liked it, I just did it because I had turned out to be good at it. So I think the right thing is to do something that is swarming with passion. I learned quite a lot of things when I became a trainee and entered music and acting classes. Eventually, I ended up debuting and when the actual activities began, I thought “Ah, I wish I could do this for the rest of my lifeâ€, and I was really happy because I was so sure of it. So maybe that’s the reason I’m happy every single moment I work. And, of course, I’ve been very lucky.

V.G.: I definitely think you’re a very lucky case. As a 2PM member and as an actor you’ve come all this way without any big vulnerability.

Chansung: Yes. However, I think that the so-called luck also depends a lot on your own will. When you take a look at people who, surprisingly, are always unhappy, there’s this energy. Shall I say, it’s not bright? If something bad happens, I’m the type who forgets it fast. And I always try to carry myself in a bright energetic way. However, this kind of effort affects not only me, but also the people who work with me. I think that when people receive good energy from me, we create a common synergy because they give big strength to me in return. I think that these complex factors might be related to the so-called “luckâ€. When you wish for something to turn out well, be positive about it and share this energy with others. If you do so, eventually, you will receive some good energy from the other people as well. I think that it might turn out to be yet another good luck.
