I found out for the first time that someone who can stop my time. Do you know that?

The world that surrounds me disappears for a moment.

In the paused time the only sensation… the feeling of only breathing. That… was you.

the dream scene ahah

lol yea that was funny and unexpected. Props to the director and the scriptwriter. The drama is more enjoyable than the webtoon because of those funny scenes :chu:

Enjoying it so far

But wtf is wrong with me and my mom

We are shipping shi hoo and mari even tho they have like 0% chance.

Shi Hoo and Mari have more chemistry for now, as Mari havent developed much feelings to Jaemin.

Its hard for me to choose my favorite pairing because the girl have chemistry with both of them :chu:

But yea, the chance for Shi Hoo and Mari together is so low, unless the PD want to make a very unexpected ending

“It would be scary and uneasy.

We would have to alert the authorities a vampire stays next door, and everytime the vampire would run away.

This is coexistence from the viewpoint of a human, right?

Do you know the meaning of coexistence?

To humans, we vampires are just an existence no better than the polar bears.â€

I hope that 2nd season in Joseon-era wont take too long. And I wonder whats their purpose adding that to the drama.

As for the 3rd season, if my guess is correct, then Mari and Jaemin will be separated for 6 months? Or it will be 6 months after Jaemin knows her identity and officially dating?

Well, maybe I should stop guessing too much, lol

that's why Jonghyun ordered a tailor-made male hanbok

i guess they're going back to the time when the pact between human and vampire was made. i guess their fate linked since then

lol, Im still confused.

Someone in AOA thread said the plan for those 3 seasons could be changed, depends on the rating, etc.

Bcus if they add a story of Joseon era, I think the current actors wont be involved at all. Mari and Han Shi Hoo's age supposed to be really 18, I dont think they have live since Joseon era, which means theyre already 200-400 years old.

But theres no information about the actors for that Joseon era, so maybe they already changed the plan? Or it could be just an unconfirmed rumor, or maybe it will take only 1-2 episodes so they dont think its necessary to introduce the actors earlier. I dont know, lol

they could get the same actors portraying different characters in different setting

They don't live that long in the webtoon, unless they drink human blood. If they really talk about Josean era, it could be ancestors or something like that though. They're pretty much free to do what they want since it's not mentionned in the webtoon.

does anyone know what are decent ratings for a drama on that timeslot? bc i cant imagine they get really high ratings so late on a friday

Im not sure, but maybe 5% is already decent? Because currently MBC and SBS dont air a drama on that timeslot, they air a variety show instead: I Live Alone, and Burning Youth. I think maybe that timeslot is really bad for a drama? Especially because OM supposed to target teenage audience, while the variety show from MBC and SBS could be for older audience. I just hope the rating will keep increasing for next episodes

KBS2 drama Orange Marmalade had its premiere airing on May 15th, and unfortunately, its ratings were not as high as expected.

According to Nielsen Korea on the 16th, the first and second episode of the drama reached 4.2% and 3.3% respectively for an average

Orange Marmalade is about a love story between a vampire and human, AOA‘s Seolhyun playing the vampire Baek Ma Ri and actor Yeo Jin Goo as the human who hates vampires, Jung Jae Min. The drama is also based off a popular manhwa, or Korean comics.

In the same time slot, MBC‘s I Live Alone took first place with 9.4% and SBS‘ Burning Youth recorded at 5.1%.

Despite the poor ratings, netizens shared their appreciation for the drama over Producers which also had its premiere pilot on the same day.

Orange Marmalade: A Sweet Taste

Posted on May 17, 2015by picadrama

catch.jpg?w=317&h=444

While the rabid Twilight era put me off most vampire stories/movies, fortunately, Orange Marmalade runs in a different vein. What I had expected when I decided to open up episode 1 was a light fluffy romance between human and vampire, much like Hi!School-Love On (angel and human). While I did get my fluffy teenage blossoming romance, there is something about the drama gives it a dark twinge as it features vampires who are treated like second class citizens.

The story itself tells of a high school boy, Jung Jae Min, who is popular at school and musically gifted with the guitar. However, he seems to have a hatred against vampires, propagated by the fact that his mother married one. I am not sure what happened to his biological father, but perhaps that had something to do with his uneasiness with vampires? He had even quit his guitar playing due to past traumas. He refuses to acknowledge his mother or his new father who is also a teacher at his school.

One day, Jae Min unwittingly falls in love with a girl that he runs into on the subway to school. Ma Ri is a vampire girl, who grew up being ostracized and called a monster by her follow peers. She just transferred to Jae Min’s school in hopes to be not discovered again. Her family is a cute vampy family who by all means act and live like normal humans albeit with sun protection vaccinations and meals made of animal blood disguised as tomato juice. For Ma Ri, somehow Jae Min’s blood or just human blood smells especially sweet to her. She even nuzzles and kisses his neck in her trance by accident because she smelled his blood. Slowly, Jae Min gets a crush on Ma Ri and vows to find out more about her. He finds out that she is an excellent musician and has a beautiful voice. He decides to joint he school band if she is vocalist.

However, Ma Ri is not really about getting to know Jae Min and just wants to get by school without being discovered. Jae Min is not about to let Ma Ri slip through his hands. Meanwhile, Ma Ri’s childhood vampire friend transfers into the same school and he obviously has some feelings for her as he flirts with her relentlessly. Of course Jae Min is jealous at how close they are and little does he know that the friend, Shi Hoo, is his brother (new husband’s son). Shi Hoo does not care much about integration and wants equal rights for vampires, even thinking that he is the superior race because of his abilities. Society is torn about the integration and fear as well as ostracize vampires whenever they can.

So I am not sure in what direction this drama is heading. At one point, I was getting a whiff of Monstar, that musical-like drama with Junghyung of BEAST and vocalist Ha Yeon-Soo. On the other hand, crazy-eyed Shi Hoo who doesn’t really care about humans and has a grudge wants to pull the drama towards a darker direction. I guess this depends on Jae Min’s decision as he learns more about vampires and that band of his. For me, what drew me to this drama initially is Yeo Jin Gu. A child actor, gosh making me feel really old, who has several dramas under his belt and far more mature in his acting than people twice his age. As I have noticed from his previous works, he definitely does the angsty and hidden trauma angle very well.

For Jonghyun who plays Shi Hoo, he is that delightful rebel charmer that every girl falls for. His physical features really fit this vampire role as he has delicate features, but belies a hidden strength. His acting of a crazy vampire in the beginning really surprised me and I look forward to this darker side of his personality. Either way, this webtoon turned drama has captured my attention for now!

Yeah

You guys know Seolhyun is older than this actor by two years right?

yea haha. She still looks like 18 tho. And also, Yeo Jin Goo's mature aura make it looks like Seolhyun is not older than him
