This is just a re-up of the thread i made two nights ago about going to see Home at a free screening

Here's the description via the video:

An overly optimistic, yet inept, alien race named Boov, led by Captain Smek, invades Earth to hide from their mortal enemy and make it a new home.Convinced they are doing a favor, they begin to relocate the human race, but one resourceful girl, Tip, manages to avoid capture. When on the run, she is accompanied by a banished Boov, named Oh, who has accidentally notified the enemies of his whereabouts.

My Experience

I was paranoid, so I ended up getting there mad early. The screening was at 6, and I ate lunch at Qdoba around 1:30, one of their burritos because I knew it would fill me up for the rest of the day. Then at 2:30 I went to the theatre. It was cold outside so I'd rather wait inside. The man at the ticket booth didn't even know what I was talking about until I showed him the pass. He was just like "oh, well you've got about 4 hours, you're the first one." He let me in and I just sat at the tables near concessions for two hours listening to music and reading from my kindle.

So it got to 4:40 and I began to get paranoid because I didn't know where the line would convene. So I walked back over to the man at the ticket booth and lo and behold there was a line for the screening already formed. Lucky for me though, since I had already been accepted in, I was in front of the line passed the booth while they were lined up behind it. I was chilling at that point, since I had my spot at the front of the line.

They let us in the theatre around 5:30, and being the first one in, of course I went all the way to the top for the last row. I sat directly in the middle seat for the perfect view, with tons of leg room and not having to worry about human giraffes. :datass:

About Home...

The movie was great! I mean of course I only wanted to see it because Rihanna, but it's more than that. Oh was hilarious. It was so cute and fluffy Even I found myself smiling at some parts inadvertently and I had to adjust my face because I am not one of those people lol I was really into the plot.

And it just got to me as I woke up this morning that girl's name is Gratuity and her nickname is Tip  While I was watching I thought, "what a stupid name" but now I get it :har:

and there's a couple catchphrases that will go around once the movie comes out, like "what is the purpose of your face?" So if you hear it, just know that's where it comes from. There was another one, but I forgot lol

The Boovs and Oh are so funny, they'll have you making amused Jessi faces the entire time like  :imstupid:  :hurr:

And the climax though, omggggg

:derp:  :derp:  :derp:  :derp:

I would definitely recommend seeing it. Though I would save that extra money you would spend on 3D to put towards your popcorn and watch the standard version. Because there's not that many 3D effects, the 3D isn't direct I should say. Maybe I'm just old... I mean I don't even remember the last movie I saw in 3D. I'm just saying, you can enjoy the movie sans-3D.

It's definitely a family movie. Watch it with your mom The script is great! There's the traditional funny but there's also the other funny that you don't expect. I would pay to watch it again. I think I will actually hmmm maybe buy the DVD when it comes out.

Rihanna has 5 songs on the soundtrack and there's also a song from Charli XCX, that's all I managed to pay attention to when the credits scrolled. I love the soundtrack though, it's download worthy.
