I'm taking a quiz thingy, and I can't understand the difference between these too choices:

  • I am a person of conviction and principle.
  • I am a person of virtue and morals.

Like all four words sound like synonyms to me. Can you help me understand please and don't judge me okay I am a human, also.

This is my opinion but

Conviction/principles means holding something up to laws+ justice regardless of feelings

- Wanting a minor to get charged as an adult for murder (life sentence)

Virtue and morals lean towards personal feelings and humanely characteristics to pass judgement

- Wanting the minor to get a less punishment due to age

Conviction and Principles both are mostly about rules, you follow rules that you are given type thing.

Conviction is you follow through with things that you decide to do...

A person with strong Principles tends to follow their head.

But Virtue and Morals seem more personally provoked.

Morals differ from person to person based on your own background.

Virtue is a trait..

both of those point towards a person who follows their heart.

At least that's how I see it, without looking it up.

The first one is more like you are very self-disciplined. The second one deals with right/wrong.

For example, Hitler is a decorated war hero, vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks on occasion, and doesn't have affairs. He's very self-disciplined, but doesn't know right from wrong.
