Official KAT-TUN Thread

I know Taguchi went for vocal and dance lessons (what a wasteeee).

I think everyone in KT is the 'best singer' in different ways. Taguchi's voice might not be everyone's cup of tea, but technique-wise, he's the best! His harmonization is the best~ Whereas for Nakamaru, I like his voice the most because its very clear and soothing but maybe because of his beat-boxing, his live singing can come off choppy.

Kame is kinda inconsistent live, but I think he performs the best because he really knows how to pour different types of emotion in different songs. I used to think Ueda is the most stable when singing live (along with Taguchi), but now  :imstupid:

I think Ueda improved a lot though when it comes to performing a song! His Ray performance in 9uarter *____*

Speaking of 6-nin, I remember akame sounded so off in their performance of Your Side. It's kinda painful to watch xD

I first noticed Taguchi's improved vocals in Bless. His vocals there was heavenly and very soothing. Hmm, Twilight also has good Taguchi vocals. /proudmama  :rlytearpls:  (He's older than me though. xD)

Heh, Taguchi is a master of harmonization. I believe that out of the 6 KT members, he has done harmonization the most. Using Keep the Faith (again lol), he's the only one who didn't have a solo line and just provided back up vocals for Akanishi. Then in Polaris, which is clearly a 3nin song, he just did harmonization all throughout the song except at the ending where he just sings, "Oh yeah~" or something (too lazy to check the exact line).

Nakamaru suits ballad so much, but he also has some moments where he surprises me. I think I heard him "growled" a little in Unlock and Feathers. Isn't that mainly done by Kame and Ueda? Nakamaru, my ichiban, forever improving his skills.

Oh yes, Ueda's RAY performance was so intense. To be honest, I like watching that performance mainly for Kame and Ueda. These two are so expert in performing a "rock" song. Too bad they had Arigatou for their duet.

Is this that performance?

Taguchi shines the most live since his harmonization is more obvious then. I remember during one of his jwebs he said he just harmonizes almost automatically. Probably because he does it so much for KAT-TUN! I'm kinda relieved he said he wasn't unhappy with his position in KAT-TUN in his 10k interview.

Please growl more, Nakamaru! Omg, Nakamaru looks so cool in their 10Ks poster!! They all look cool but I saw pics of his poster first and it had a great impact xD

Haha I love watching Kameda make Arigatou cause Ueda was being all Boss and Kame's just unusually obedient~

Yes yes thats the video! *cringes*

Kame is the MC for a new sports program!! I'm so happy for any solo works they've right now cause isn't that the whole point of the hiatus in the first place? Now Nakamaru and Kame are hosts/MC for 2 regular programs~ I just need some announcement for Ueda!!! I've a feeling its gonna come soon (It better) <.<

Edit: Losing Gatsun is expected but I don't see why Nakamaru can't host the radio himself. Or with Ueda... We've one good thing now we're lost another one :(

Yeah, I agree. Glad that he's leaving the group not because of being unsatisfied with his role in KT. After Kame, he became the second most popular member because of Legal High. I wonder if it's still the same though.

They all look cool in the individual 10Ks posters, no? Yep, I particularly like this Nakamaru shot:

CdeeF7YUkAAAwAN.jpg

Ueda has cool posters as well. Actually, when it comes to 4nin KAT-TUN, he's the best member who can pull off this kind of concept.

Anyway, Kame's poster with shades is loltastic. I thought it was edited by fans, but it turned out to be a legit poster:

LOL. Ueda as boss and Kame as the subordinate. xD That was actually very refreshing to watch. Poor Kame.  :hurr:

Speaking of Kame, I'm glad that he has secured another regular program. However, like you, I'm still waiting for something new from Ueda's side. I'm hoping against hope that he's SCP's new MC even though I already expect it to be somebody else.

I know how you feel about Gatsun! Byebye, radio show. Now, it's only Kame who has hosts a radio show. Dang.

EDIT: Tomorrow's the last episode of SCP.

Omg I didn't know Taguchi became the second most popular member! I always thought it was Nakamaru! Guess it makes sense since I did see a lot of Japanese commenting about Taguchi.

They all look really cool! The group ones are awesome too!!

Yea Ueda totally pulls this off well. These posters also kinda remind me of Robamaru being bodyguards haha xD

Who thought it was a good idea to make Kame's shades totally white? xDD

Oh I just saw on twitter today that Kame's program is not a regular one! 8 eps broadcasted to Kanto only.

Not gonna expect anything or get my hopes up for SCP... But please give me a miracle  :rlytearpls:  :rlytearpls:  :rlytearpls:

Their rock collab will be so bittersweet  :rlytearpls:

I think Nakamaru (and hopefully Ueda) will get a radio show eventually. Not just Kame, the other members have always had their own radio shows too so hopefully this continues.

So Kame's program is like an SP, huh.

Damn it. I'm currently mourning. JE and KAT-TUN really didn't leave us with anything that would remind us of the group KAT-TUN. At this point, I'd better prepare myself for the worst like disbanding or a totally indefinite hiatus. I'll forget 3nin's promise of a comeback for now to spare myself from the worst news ever.

I'm happy for NEWS, but I'm confident that I won't ever watch SCP because for me, it's a KAT-TUN show.

Also:

Is it mean if I say that NEWS should be thankful for KT's hiatus? They basically took over KT's slots. They got a new (not really new) regular bangumi and became SCP's new host.

Well, maybe I'm just being bitter, and I know this'll pass.

NEWS was my second favorite group in J&A after KAT-TUN. I feel really bad but I completely agree with you. I'm suuuuper bitter right now. I can't find myself supporting them as this show's MC. And I can't bring myself to watch future SCP episodes too.

I don't like how everything that KAT-TUN had was handed over to NEWS. Tametabi's timeslot, SCP etc. I would actually feel more relieved if it was handed to HSJ because I feel its more natural to hand it over to their juniors. Now, its like they're replacing KAT-TUN with NEWS... Does J&A even intend to keep KAT-TUN anymore...?

I don't know... I don't want to entertain the thought of there being no more KAT-TUN...

Have you watched this ep? I just saw links.

Nope. I haven't watched the whole episode yet. I just saw gifs and screencaps.

I'm waiting for HD versions, so that I could "enjoy" one of their last live performances. They said Kame cried as well?

Yeah. To be honest, I was expecting it to be either NEWS or HSJ, but with HSJ's current push compared to NEWS, I thought it's be the latter.

Hmmm, don't worry. I bet there's a lot in the fandom who also feel this way. Happy for NEWS but *envious and suuuuuuuper bitter* at the same time.

Here's a link for MQ version of SCP:

I wonder what else is left for KT.

What else is left?

Hmmmm, NOTHING but purely individual projects.

Kame - Kaitou Yamaneko (which ends next week)

          - Going!

          - Hangout Radio Show

          - 8-episode baseball show

          - 2017 movie

          - Kame Camera corner in Maquia magazine

Nakamaru - Shuichi

                 - Tokoro-san no Nippon no Deban

(- Does Nakamaru still have a corner in Wink Up?)

Ueda - Honoo no Taiikukaii TV

Cancelled shows due to hiatus:

- TameTabi

- Shounen Club Premium (will restart with NEWS in April)

- Gatsuun!

Edit:

Taguch's "Iriguchi, Deguchi, Taguchi deshita" last night killed me a little.

ã§ã—ãŸ, huh.

So he finally used past tense.   Goodbye, Taguchi.

With that, I want 3nin KAT-TUN to appear at Music Station instead of 4nin.

Thanks for the links! I'm watching this one too. With breaks in between parts lol.

Besides 10Ks tour and that 'special bangumi', thats it I guess.

Sorry I'm not too sure. It's been a while since I last saw his illustrations, so I guess not?

Yes, 3-nin please. Looking at their 10Ks poster, I think they can still make it as 3. I'm not worried about whether they've the ability to continue as 3, but rather whether they're going to continue in the first place >.<

Agree so much with your last sentence.

lol. I forgot about the 10Ks album, 10Ks tour, and the SP. Thanks for the reminder. xD

No problem~

Anyway, I'm a little annoyed the 10Ks CM focuses so much on 6-nin.

Also according to Nakamaru's jweb, he finally gave Kame his illustration as his birthday gift! I thought it was really cute. Wanna see a picture of it.

I just read JunMaruDa's 10k interviews and I was expecting Junno to say he wanted to change career paths because the idol job became too much for him to handle but instead he kept talking about how much the group means to him and how he loves the feeling of performing in front of fans. I'm sorry but this only makes his decision harder to understand and I can see why the remaining members were/are so confused.

When he says he needs to leave to mature or smth along those lines I can only think that he wants to settle down and have a family but if that is really the reason, I'll never forgive JE for not making it easier for their idols to get married.

And watching the last SCP episode afterwards was even more heartbreaking. It also made me realize once more how much untapped potential KAT-TUN has. It now seems like a total waste to have them pause activities and even more to see everything they've worked so hard to rebuild crumbling down to pieces and being taken away from them. I gotta wonder if JE will even try to get them individual jobs once the hiatus comes into effect considering that they've been pretty lazy with KAT-TUN in recent years, especially when it comes to Ueda.

My top ten KAT-TUN singles/promos. Agree? Disagree?  :)

http://thebiaslist.com/2016/03/18/the-top-ten-best-songs-by-kat-tun/

I'm really surprised Ultimate Wheels and White made your list, and that Rescue would be number 1. I like Ultimate Wheels but its sadly mostly forgotten by the fans (and KAT-TUN themselves prob). For me, I would replace these 3 songs with Unlock, Bokura no Machi de, and either Keep the Faith or Yorokobi no Uta.

I feel like KAT-TUN generally had better A-sides when they were 6. Can't say the same for their B-sides though.

Its highly likely its marriage and family. I mean she's already 36? If they want children, they really need to have them soon. I agree about the J&A not making it easier for idols to get married, especially when they're already above 30.

I haven't got over their loss of SCP. Its such a waste. They do have a lot of potential especially during live performances. I just hope they'll still have the chance to express it. J&A was pretty lazy with KAT-TUN up until last year when they decided to give SCP and Tametabi to them. I think its to give them momentum and to prepare for their 10th anniversary. Its just unfortunate this has to happen to them again. Reading Nakamaru's interview made me really frustrated they've to keep pausing and restarting. I feel so bad for the remaining members. J&A better not give us some half-assed promotion for Ueda.

Oh and Kame and Ueda looked so upset after watching their Rock medley (and before their individual comments), I feel really angry on their behalf. Not at Taguchi, just at how things ended up.

That's so true. I remember reading a rumor that said the ideal age for marriage among Johnny's was 40. I don't know how true that is but for Junno to give up his entire career l'm guessing he had to feel cornered.

Yes! I think the best way to enjoy KAT-TUN and their music is by watching their live performances and that's also why SCP worked so well for them. I keep thinking of how happy the guys were when they got the show and also when TameTabi was upgraded to a regular show. It seemed like they were finally back on track, and reading those interviews I got the feeling that they were determined to keep going despite Taguchi's withdrawal but now I gotta wonder, when Maru said that he did not agree with the hiatus did that mean they were coerced into taking it?

MTE. No matter what, the guys had been looking forward to their anniversary and to see it turn out like this, it's gotta hurt. That shot at the end of the last performance was heartbreaking for me to watch because they all have this look of frustration on their faces. I wanna be optimistic and think that this is all gonna work out for the guys but I can't help worrying. I really, really, really hope Ueda gets more activities handed to him. I think he can do fairly well as an actor and/or soloist.

I'm not too sure, but I think Kame was the only one who wanted the hiatus/recharge. I was reading the Chinese translation of his 10K interview and he was saying how grateful he was that the agency allowed them to have a hiatus despite this not being a common practice in J&A. Nakamaru also said he didn't want a hiatus, and its kinda implied that Ueda felt like he owed it to Kame, so I guess its really just Kame who wanted this. I really don't agree with his decision, but I guess he must have raised some really good points to convince the other members and J&A to give them this hiatus... I can't blame him for this, but I really don't think its the best option... But if this is indeed true, I guess its a relief that the agency didn't suggest it? So disbandment is less likely if this is the case.

SCP... Kame sounded like he was crying when they did the "We're KAT-TUN" and indeed he did

http://ww3.sinaimg.cn/mw690/47643b51gw1f22lt7gkghg20b408vnpd.gif

I saw comments that Ueda cried too but I haven't seen any gifs of that yet. The two most 'stoic' ones crying... Its painful to see them like this, and if they (Kame) wanted a break I really can't fault them/him.

Happy 10th anniversary, KAT-TUN!!!

Happy 10th Anniversary KAT-TUN!!

Even Jin tweeted his congrats~

https://twitter.com/Jin_Akanishi/status/711946718896455680

Even Koki tweeted, "Happy birthday", but I learned that he deleted it so as not to "cause misunderstanding" blah blah blah.

Even though this is KAT-TUN anniversary, technically speaking, it's also Jin and Koki's 10th debut anniversary.

Yep, I also read somewhere (can't remember the source) saying that it was Kame's idea to have the hiatus or a recharging period. Pretty much read that both Nakamaru and Ueda were initially against it, but they agreed to it eventually.

By the way, how was Kame's 10K interview? On Twitter, people who have read his 10K interview seemed to be... disturbed? Idk... I'm confident that Kame fans will translate it to English (and for that, thank you~).

As for the goods, lol at Nakamaru trolling hyphens. It was his idea to have a 4-colored pen and the charger. Y U DO THAT, NAKAMARU?  :rlytearpls:

I just watched the entire SCP just this morning. I'll miss their performances so much.

Happy 10th anniversary, KAT-TUN!!!

Even Koki tweeted, "Happy birthday", but I learned that he deleted it so as not to "cause misunderstanding" blah blah blah.

Even though this is KAT-TUN anniversary, technically speaking, it's also Jin and Koki's 10th debut anniversary.

Aww Koki~ How come the fandom seems to hate Koki more? Personally I don't really have any hard feelings towards those who left but I'm just curious why fans seem to be more accepting of Jin than Koki?

I briefly skimmed through the Chinese translation. Didn't really read it in detail, but I feel that Kame's one is less emotional? Its really direct and focuses more on future plans and explanations rather than how he feels about the situation.

Someone posted a rough translation of the first part here:

This part kinda 'disturbed' me

--Then hyphens should be able to set their hearts at ease, and wait for the day of KAT-TUN’s return?

K: Nnn, perhaps it should be a little different from “waitingâ€. If there are those who only welcome and support group activities, then yes, they’ll have to wait.

LOL YES NAKAMARU. Now I think he's the troll-est, most 'S' in the group. He must be smirking while scrolling through his private Twitter account xDD

I think about their loss of SCP at least once everyday tbh.

I can't believe people didn't like Koki's tweet. I thought it was sweet that he and Jin acknowledged their time as KAT-TUN members. I hope one day they all meet even if it's in private and reminisce about the old days.

SCP... Kame sounded like he was crying when they did the "We're KAT-TUN" and indeed he did

I saw comments that Ueda cried too but I haven't seen any gifs of that yet. The two most 'stoic' ones crying... Its painful to see them like this, and if they (Kame) wanted a break I really can't fault them/him.

If it was really Kame who came up with this idea, then I'm afraid I feel exactly the way you do. I don't think it's the wisest decision and perhaps that's the selfish fan in me speaking, but I can't also blame Kame for wanting a break, especially because he's been the one facing the media and fans every single time a member has left or messed up.

Also, I think when I heard about the hiatus and how Nakamaru hadn't agreed to it right away I was thinking of NEWS and how they said people kept telling them to just disband. But it's a relief to know the company isn't pressuring the guys.

This episode is gonna haunt me till the end of time tbh. I don't think I've ever seen the guys look this broken on TV.

Reminds me of what Ueda said about the 6 of them being able to meet anytime if they want!

I keep switching between hiatus is a good idea and hiatus is a bad idea especially after reading Kame's interview. It would be good if the hiatus help filter out fans who keep talking about 6-nin KT IMO. I wonder if KT received pressure to disband too... From the looks of things, it doesn't seem like it and for that I'm kinda grateful J&A still wants to support this group?

Anyway, new song for KAT-TUN!

And 4-nin's final appearance on Music Station tonight ;-;

I wonder if Kimi no Yume, Boku no Yume will be performed as 3-nin?

Edit: And last Tametabi tonight too ;____;

4nin? No... I don't want a 4nin appearance at Music Station.

Also Kimi no Yume, Boku no Yume should be sang as 3nin. It's their song, and he isn't even in the original song. I would be so angry if they include Taguchi in that song.
