What a lonely thread. Probably because most Hyphens are on Twitter.

Anyway, RAY and NOTHING ELSE MATTERS are definitely my favorite songs from KISS KISS KISS single. 

 

Their last single was released in March. I wonder what their next plan is...

KAT-TUN is trending worldwide for all the wrong reasons. 

 

8 months of no new music from KAT-TUN must have been JE's punishment towards Taguchi and KAT-TUN. Just like when they suddenly ceased group activities prior to Koki's departure from the group. Then, Taguchi could not bear it anymore, so he announced his graduation ahead of the management. 

 

I'm seriously pissed.

Each KAT-TUN member's singing improves as time goes by. Their live singing sessions in Shounen Club Premium are a great testament to that.

In other news, Hyphens in Twitter are currently talking about 2 things:

 

1. Taguchi's blog entry in JWeb will formally close at the end of Feb. So it's probably safe to say that his "graduation" date from the group has been finalized. 

 

 

2. Based on screenshots from Amazon Japan, a new info about the Unlock single (which will be released in March 2) has been included. Apparently, there's a disclaimer that there will be changes in the content of the single. As to what the change/s will be, nobody exactly knows.

Some speculate that Unlock is to be re-recorded for 3人 since Taguchi might have been gone from KT by that time. /shrugs

 

 

 

Ah... I wish Taguchi's departure date is announced soon. It's so vexing to guess what happens to KAT-TUN after Taguchi leaves (though the remaining 3 members have said that they still want to continue as a group) .

I think someone tweeted that a Japanese fan asked J-storm whether Unlock will be 3nin or 4nin and the reply she got confirmed its 4nin... I mean I love Taguchi and all but I don't really like to be left hanging about the group's future...

 

Eh. Now I'm even more curious what's with the sudden "change in content" in the single description in Amazon Jp. 

 

I'm one of those fans who understand him and who wish him best in his endeavors, but I also can't help feeling annoyed because his decision put the fans on the edge and traumatized them even further.

 

If he really thinks that the work as an idol is a baggage for him, then he should have just not participated in Unlock (except for Greatest Journey). He should have waited for his contract to expire after the Tragedy promotions. But then again, that's just me.

Despite me being annoyed at the situation and wanting some 3nin releases asap, I guess it would weird to not include him when he's still in the group. It might worsen KT's image too as people will think they aren't close or something.

 

You do have a point, but still... being close isn't what's KAT-TUN known for anyway.

 

 

Though it's very obvious how they've all matured and developed a strong bond with each other.

So far, all 4人 singles (In Fact, Dead or Alive, Kiss Kiss Kiss, Tragedy, and Unlock) have yet to be compiled in an album. I hope that they release a new album in time for KT’s 10th anniversary and Taguchi’s departure.

Ah I love all the covers! I already like Unlock from what I've heard of it so far, and I can't wait for Tragedy and all the b-sides :D

But oh. I was too excited to receive my CDs and watch the PVs, but then  discovered that the customs held my package. It's only 4,000+ yen (around 35USD), so I don't know why ems has not delivered it. /end of rant

Isn't Twilight the song that Taguchi said he got emotional while singing? I want to hear it soon. 

 

 

I'm still watching the PV. Omg. 

 

I'm crying on how synchronized they are in the dancing parts. It also doesn't help they all look so cool and younger than in Kiss Kiss Kiss, and most specially how good the song is.

I totally neglected the PV! I rarely pay attention to their PVs haha. I think I've been listening to the short ver. of Tragedy so much I can't get used to the second verse! It would break my heart if instead of all 4 of them, only Taguchi walked pass that door in the last scene. #doM

I just finished listening to the single, and wow. Waiting for almost 1 year for a new single from KAT-TUN is really worth it. Personally, I feel that there are no filler songs in this single. 

 

Tragedy is my favorite, followed by Twilight, then Feathers.

 

Twilight is so sad and you can really feel the emotion of the members here. I agree also with choa501 that Junno sounds so beautiful here. The English introduction has so much feel: It’s just time to forgive you for love. It’s just time to forgive you for dream. 

 

No wonder Taguchi said he was emotional while singing this song. Is this 3nin's song for him? >__<

For me, Feathers and Twilight are tied for favourite but I find myself listening to Twilight more so far! I'll miss his beautiful harmonizing, his voice adds another layer to KAT-TUN's songs :(

About Twilight, I hope Junno gets to perform it live. SCP performance, please? 

It'll be a total waste for this song not to be performed as 4nin, but I don't know about 3nin KT performing this song again.

Tragedy debuted 1 on Oricon today. While the first day sales is lower than Kiss Kiss Kiss, it's still a good thing because the 1st day sales are better than all 5nin singles (sans Going, Change Ur World, and Birth).

 

Also, this single has little promotion - only 1 TV performance, roaming trucks just 2 days before the release, and just having poster calendars as bonus. I remember in Kiss Kiss Kiss's case, they had some lottery tickets for a fan meeting in the CDs, but here, just the usual J&A splitting content. Nothing more. (I can't remember if there were gimmicks used in In Fact and Dead or Alive though.)

I wanna hear the b-sides for Tragedy (and Unlock) performed by 4-nin at least once! SCP should spam us with 4-nin performances if they're going to drop them after Taguchi leaves.

 

Idgi, when did KAT-TUN get so few promotions for their singles? Like music shows wise. Don't other groups appear on quite a few music shows to promote? KAT-TUN only ever appears on Music Station and usually its after the single goes on sale. Hm.

 

Oh and Atsuku Nare PV is so over the top and lulzy. Reminds me of their Real Face karaoke video xD  

Well, 2 more SCP episodes with Taguchi. The Feb episode will be shown next week, right? I'm hoping to hear Twilight~~~ 

 

They were on CDTV for DoA, but really went full force during DoA and during Kusabi promotions. I remember they appeared in at least 3 music shows back then. Hmm, also maybe I'm confusing their other appearances in the special music shows. Damn, they performed Kiss Kiss Kiss for every special music show (FNS, Music Day, etc) last 2015.  

 

Haha. I agree about the Atsuku Nare PV.

 

Speaking of Real Face, I always wish that they sing the full version at least once.

I'm hoping they didn't bother much with this single because they're gonna focus on promoting the hell out of Unlock instead. I'm really excited for the b-sides on that single. 

 

 

I'm praying they get to perform the b-sides on SCP, especially Twilight. I just feel like it would be so much more raw and enchanting if we saw the guys singing it live. Also, this is a recurring thought of mine but I feel like people don't give KAT-TUN enough credit for their beautiful harmonies and falsettos. They've really come a long way.

 

 

J&A better promote Unlock properly next month, especially since it's Taguchi's last CD as a KAT-TUN member. Their best album will of course has his vocals, but it'll be released after Taguchi leaves the group. 

 

KAT-TUN and NEWS are groups whose members all have nice vocals. I used to hate hearing Taguchi singing, but ever since KT becoming 4nin, his vocals improved greatly. I was very impressed with his singing since they released kusabi.

KAT-TUN is going on a hiatus after their dome tour. Kame even said, "in one year or two years when KT decides to sail again..."

 

I don't care what anyone says right now. At this point, I REALLY hate Junnosuke Taguchi.

 

I was planning to buy Unlock, but since Taguchi's face is going to be there, I'll just save my money for the Best album.

 

What happens to TameTabi and to Shounen Club Premium?

 

J&A better give good individual projects to Ueda and Nakamaru, and not just focus on Kame now that KAT-TUN is going on a hiatus.

I honestly didn't expect a hiatus announcement, I could have SWORN they'd just end up carrying on normally

But at the same time NEWS did the same damn thing so I wish for the best! I just don't want them to be on their way out, they got too many bops to leave us like this </3

 

I think a lot of fans didn't expect a hiatus at all, considering that KAT-TUN immediately released an album and a single (half a year later though) right after Koki left. Since the remaining members seem passionate about KAT-TUN, I really hope that they'll hold on to their "promise". 

 

 

 

II think my biggest concern right now is that unlike Maru and Kame, Ueda doesn't have much to fall back on. There is also nothing that can ensure us this hiatus won't last a lifetime or that somewhere along the way they'll decide they're better off working separately. 

 

Yeah, you're right about Ueda. Though he has a regular tv show, he's just one of the panelists there, and the program is about sports which is not everyone's cup of tea. Out of the 3 remaining members, he has the least public recognition, so JE should give him public friendly projects such as dramas. His solos are among the best in current KT, and he's a good composer himself. Can JE please resurrect Mouse Peace? 

 

Another concern about the hiatus... what if they discovered that they want to become solo artists instead? With KAT-TUN, I've learned to always expect for the worst. lol. 

 

 

 

Nakamaru said on Shuichi that he didn't want the hiatus initially...

I just saw the clip and I'm even more confused. I wonder if it was management who suggested they take a break because thinking back, for every thread that I've seen about Yamaneko or the new single there have been a dozen more of gossip articles written about KAT-TUN and Junno since he announced his retirement. They say any press is good press but not when it's overshadowing the group's activities.

 

You know, I saw Twitter convos speculating on where this idea came from. Anyway, everyone's just hoping for the better of the members and for the fandom as well. 

 

 

 

Also, I've seen a lot of SMAP fans tweeting their support to KAT-TUN and Hyphens and they've also started to pre-order Unlock. I thought it was a really touching and sweet gesture on their part and I almost wish int'l Hyphens could get together just like we did for DOA and Kissx3 to buy our copies through fans in Japan so our sales could get counted towards Oricon as well. Maybe it wouldn't get rid of the hiatus, but at least it would show management that there is still interest in KAT-TUN. 

 

They said they're still unsure as to what will happen to Tametabi. As for SCP, I guess it could go to Nakamaru? I mean, Kokubun used to host it alone in the past. It'll be such a waste if they take it away from KAT-TUN though. /sighs

 

I totally wasn't expecting Japanese SMAP fans to give support to KAT-TUN. It's touching indeed. 

About ordering CDs from foreign hyphens in Japan, I think it's already a practice no? The first time I ordered through a fan in Japan was during KAT-TUN vs. JYJ's music cards.    

 

 

Yes! Nakamaru for the new SCP host~ At least it's still someone from KAT-TUN because once the MC duty's been given to another group, never expect that KAT-TUN could regain it back.

So KAT-TUN's album will be released on their debut date 10 years ago. That's actually good. 

However, it's on a Tuesday, and the usual release is every Wednesday.

I have so many things to say, but I'd rather keep quiet this time.

 

I really wish that one of them becomes the mc. As I've said before, no way will KAT-TUN regain the mc spot if it's given to another group.

 

At least Kamenashi still gets to have his Pero birthday gift this month.

I haven't watched it yet but I was so happy seeing screencaps of Kame's present, then I saw the news... I don't get why SCP chose to drop them, 3-nin KAT-TUN is fully capable of hosting the show too...

I just...This is so disappointing. Saddest most tragic 10th anniv ever... I would prefer them to keep SCP over Tametabi if I've to choose one. Pero had so much potential too, and I loved that ueda plays such a huge role in its creation :(
I hope they'll at least listen to the fans and let Nakamaru host the show...

I don't want to get my hopes high for Tametabi anymore.

 

Hmm, I also haven't watched it yet. I just saw vines and screencaps from Twitter. 

 

Well since they announced a hiatus (with a huge possibility of a quiet disbandment), I already expected that Gatsuun, TameTabi, and SCP will be discontinued. Heck, even their Carada cm was cut short earlier this year.

 

However, I agree with you that I prefer to have Shounen Club Premium than TameTabi. Poor Ueda who had been so passionate in making his Pero mascot a success. Why did they have to show all those support messages and item ideas for Pero if they're going to cancel it in the end? What a nice way to demotivate the viewers.

Please have Nakamaru be the host. T__T

 

About Tametabi, prior to their hiatus announcement, I thought that they'll continue with the show. Voice of heaven teased them a lot on how the members keep on decreasing, so I thought it'll be okay. But a hiatus is a hiatus.  

 

I'm afraid that the members might grow apart during this "recharging period" ... bigger reason why they might not come back as KAT-TUN.
