aaaaaa 224
I dont get this "haha lets make this newest iphone, mac etc. 4mm thinner, that should make it so much cooler!" -attitude. Make it as thin as paper and then its something cool.
Joon 8,222
It's super nice looking, I will wait on performance reviews though. Not that I'd expect a laptop like that to be extremely performance driven though....

Eppo 7,020
If I didn't already have a retina Macbook Pro i'd definitely buy this. The only downside is the CPU, which is weaker than MacBook Airs. Btw it's not a macbook air, it's just 'MacBook', pretty much a hybrid between the Air and Pro model.

Make it as thin as paper and then its something cool. That's a dumb argument. This is still amazing progress. The next thinnest laptop period is (iirc) around 16mm, which is a huge difference when talking about numbers this small. The previous thinnest Macbook was 17mm. Why did they make you have to click the trackpad harder tho I didn't get that you have to click the trackpad harder from the keynote...it was saying that there are different pressure sensitivities and the mac will react differently based on the pressure applied. I think you can even change the sensitivities to suit you... If I didn't already have a retina Macbook Pro i'd definitely buy this. The only downside is the CPU, which is weaker than MacBook Airs. I think you can even change the sensitivities to suit you... Yeah CPU is whats holding me back as well. I might wait for a later gen... Later generations of this MacBook will still have the same Core M cpu. It's basically an ultra-low power CPU. Though I should say you won't really need Macbook Pro like speeds unless you do serious work on the laptop. For everyday use it's more than enough. I wish I knew this when I got my Pro. But i dont think that a good amount of normal buyers care about small changes like 1mm
DragonFury 3,019
$1299 starting price and you need about $150 in accessories for it to have any practical use. And people wonder why I no longer use Apple products.

But i dont think that a good amount of normal buyers care about small changes like 1mm You'd be surprised. Thinness in laptops goes hand in hand with weight. This Macbook is only 2 pounds/0.9kg which is insane. We're in an age where mobility is becoming more and more important with tech. $1299 starting price and you need about $150 in accessories for it to have any practical use. And people wonder why I no longer use Apple products. Then you clearly don't fall under this product's target audience. There are Air and Pro models for a reason. If you really need to be using multiple USB slots, you need a Pro.
____shawnee 4,118
Apple finding more and more ways to squeeze money out of people. All the changing ports and whatnot. I actually prefer my laptop to have a bit of chunk to it. Plus the Airs don't have disk drives. So nah I'll pass. It's called iPad It's not the same
terrifiedwolves 571
I'd be excited for when they finally make a hologram computer (that looks cool and functions cool too) but until then I think all computers are the same - just like phones. I don't know about buying a laptop so thin like that, I could break it.
