College students, I have a question.

My mother wants me to buy multivitamins in order to supplement my diet. Do you take any type of vitamins, if so which? Are there specific types of vitamins from which a college student (with a heavy workload, little sleep) would benefit? I don't feel particularly tired but I still want to take care of my health.

I'm a second semester senior ( :rlytearpls: ) and I take daily iron supplements and Vitamin D tablets. The iron is literally a godsend because I'm severely anemic so it helps me with energy, and the vitamin D has become a necessity because of the harsh winter we've had. I would def heavily recommend both :)

I do take multivitamins, vitamin C and iron but that's caz of health reasons and I need that extra push. Mostly if you are healthy you just need to eat right and try to work it out where you will get sleep but if you can't take some Vitamin C to lower your risk of getting sick.

Yea I do. The one a day energy one that taste like cough syrup and diet coke. They taste like butt but they work.

Iron is also I good vitamin to take for those days ur pd got ya feeling kinda weak. Five hour energy or red bull will also be ur best friend on those heavy study nights or morning afters.

i think it's important to take some immunity boosting vitamins (C,D, etc.)

esp. if you're going to live in crowded dorms/apts

and everyone says fruits and vegetables.... lol people don't eat nearly the amount of fruits and vegetables to get a complete daily value of nutrients unless you're completely raw vegan or some shit

i've just started taking iron supplements because i have pretty much all the symptoms of iron deficiency (maybe i should go get my levels tested as well...), and the one i'm taking also contains vitamin B (even though i don't need it, but getting a bit too much of that isn't dangerous). hopefully it's just a temporary solution but, especially since i've been cutting down a bit on meat, i find it hard to get enough iron from what i'm eating without like... drinking blood. but i'm working on it.

it's better to get what you need from your diet. some vitamins and minerals aren't good if you get too much of them either, and others will just go straight through you, so only take pills if you think you need them. fruits, vegetables and nuts are great, eat a varied diet and don't replace proper meals with snacks or junk food and you'll probably be fine.

Multivitamins , eat heavy meals that has a lot of nutrients tbh Foods with Carbohydrates will keep you alive the whole day especially if you eat meat and rice everday . Focus on carbohydrates and iron just let the multivitamins replenish your other nutrients .

Oh god your mom sounds like my mom. She used to force me so much to take multi vitamins.

But yes i do take multivitamins cuz i have too many deficiencies tbh.

I take prenatal multi vitamins because it contains folic acid, iron, and calcium. Three things that my body lacks the most.

I also take vit c vitamins ( the one you eat like a candy) and vit d vitamins.

Yea my body lacks basically everything. it's sad.

My doctor was really surprised ( not in a good way) that vit d level was basically non existent omg... So yea...

back home I take calcium + Vitamin D + iron (I'm anemic) + Vitamin C but I have yet to find those in SK.... there's very little fruits here lol

If I'm not mistaken some Asian countries sell iron supplements not as a pill but a liquid. Idk if its true for ROK but China has this, I'm anemic too and I tried this out and big mistake.

The liquid version will stain your teeth black, do not get tricked into using them lol. I think Iron in liquid form is supposed to be for kids but for some reason store people push it on to foreigners, like three different people told me to use liquid iron when I was trying to find them.

fruits, vegetables and water.especially drink lots of water.it helps a lot and try to stay away as much as you can from junk foods :)

Some exercise in the evening is good too. I tried eating supplements before but I couldn't commit to it so might as well focus on diet and healthy eating instead.
