For e.g. from the country i m from these authors would either Taras Shevchenko, (Ivan Franko or Lesia Ukrainka). What about your country? Discuss. I would say Goethe, but I guess it depends who you ask. For example, most of the teenagers who like to read here would probably say Kerstin Gier or Cornelia Funke because they're the most popular authors for children's and young adult's books. CheayiN 700 Posted March 6, 2015 Share Posted March 6, 2015 Chinua Achebe is one of the most internationally-acclaimed writers from Africa Wole Soyinka, a playwright, poet and writer won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986 and many more. I havent read the others but those two are the most famous, and we used their books in school for literature. There was even a TV series from Chinua Achebe in my country.
