Does bad review turn you off from watching a drama, movie or anime?

I'm the type to read review before watching something because i hate wasting my time watching something bad. It happen quite often that a movie/drama/anime im planning to watch but having bad review generally make me feel less enthusiast about watching it.

For example, the kdrama Blood, i felt excited at first when i heard about it but after many ppl said the drama is not good + bad acting i don't feel excited anymore. Another one is the movie Beautiful creature. I like the novel but never finish the movie, not even halfway and i feel bored by it already.

How about you?

Yea I think these things affect me a lot. That's why I try not to read reviews because sometimes I read a book and really enjoy it and later when I check out goodreads, some people would rate it like 2 stars or one and I realise I might have really differing opinions so it's better to judge on my own.

I'll check out a show if i've heard lots of people talking good about it or if certain plot points interest me or the actor/actress. Based on 1 or 2 episodes i'll decide to continue watching it or not.

I'm pretty good at knowing if i'll like film based on the trailer. I look at reviews a little (not in depth) and trust my own decision from there since i've liked films not acclaimed by critics and i've felt meh about films that got lots of hype and rave.

no i actually just watched love, rosie because the premise interested me even though the critics panned it. and i liked too. i wont be watching 50 shades not because it had bad reviews, but because bdsm doesnt interest me. if you're interested in a thing you should decide for yourself whether you'll like it or not. simple.

For movies I stopped reading reviews all together, generally I know what I like and thus far, I haven't seen a movie at cinema I didn't like to some extent.

TV/anime I read fan reviews more, much more insightful IMO.

Games yeah I actually do read reviews because games require a lot of investment, not just time but also you are physically involved so if I'm not enjoying the gameplay its gonna a waste of money, especially considering games are generally much more expensive than the other 2.

Not really

I tend to go in completely blind for movies/shows (outside of looking at the general rating to set my expectations).

Unless the anime has like 6.5/10 rating or below, then I don't waste time with it.

I do read reviews afterwards to see if other people liked it or their take on it.
