SHERRY 5,081
I'm the type to read review before watching something because i hate wasting my time watching something bad. It happen quite often that a movie/drama/anime im planning to watch but having bad review generally make me feel less enthusiast about watching it. For example, the kdrama Blood, i felt excited at first when i heard about it but after many ppl said the drama is not good + bad acting i don't feel excited anymore. Another one is the movie Beautiful creature. I like the novel but never finish the movie, not even halfway and i feel bored by it already. How about you? Pineapple 7,592
I usually take reviews with a grain of salt since I know not everyone will enjoy the same things, and something someone else hates might really resonate with me.
Tadpole. 4,154
Yea I think these things affect me a lot. That's why I try not to read reviews because sometimes I read a book and really enjoy it and later when I check out goodreads, some people would rate it like 2 stars or one and I realise I might have really differing opinions so it's better to judge on my own. feat. you 1,103
People shouldn't look to reviews as "should i check this out or not" but rather a second opinion after forming your own. I like to check out reviews of things I love so I can see what someone else saw, good or bad.
SAUCY 44,499
only read reviews for movie and yea, reading overwhelmingly bad reviews will deter me from watching it aint no one got time to spend 15 on a movie
Midnight Dreamer 638
Only for movies and sometimes drama's but I usually watch the teaser first or read the synopsis if it still does not interest me I drop it.

Skibop!! 8,585
I just read the description of the drama to see if the plot interests me or not. Oh and it depends on the actors too... if I see Park Shin Hye, I X out of it immediately
Eppo 7,020
No, since from a critical standpoint a large majority of movies/tv shows "suck". It's entertainment for me, and a lot of critically bashed shows/movies entertained me.

avarice 4,219
sometimes, yeah. depends on the content of the reviews really but usually when a lot of people say something is shit it's for a reason

CheayiN 700
sometimes, for dramas i watch like 1 or 2 ep and if i like it i continue but if i dont like it i stop watching. For movies i watch the teaser, stream it online and watch for 15 to 20 min and i stop if i find it boring.
alllysone 3,343
Yes. I always go through the reviews first before I watch something. I rarely watch any shows so I try to be a little more selective. I don't want to watch something halfway and then quit on it :/
Salty Pretzel 942
bad reviews don't necessarily stop me from watching something. they do make me extremely cautious about getting started with a drama or anime though. i'm really picky on dramas and animes so i tend to read reviews about them before i start. mlssv92 438
I'll check out a show if i've heard lots of people talking good about it or if certain plot points interest me or the actor/actress. Based on 1 or 2 episodes i'll decide to continue watching it or not. I'm pretty good at knowing if i'll like film based on the trailer. I look at reviews a little (not in depth) and trust my own decision from there since i've liked films not acclaimed by critics and i've felt meh about films that got lots of hype and rave. QUEEEN SOHYE 350
no i actually just watched love, rosie because the premise interested me even though the critics panned it. and i liked too. i wont be watching 50 shades not because it had bad reviews, but because bdsm doesnt interest me. if you're interested in a thing you should decide for yourself whether you'll like it or not. simple. mezzy 1,966
Nope. I read reviews only if the drama is good for me.
silicon soul 19,457
For movies I stopped reading reviews all together, generally I know what I like and thus far, I haven't seen a movie at cinema I didn't like to some extent. TV/anime I read fan reviews more, much more insightful IMO. Games yeah I actually do read reviews because games require a lot of investment, not just time but also you are physically involved so if I'm not enjoying the gameplay its gonna a waste of money, especially considering games are generally much more expensive than the other 2. ღChoco 2,864
Not really I tend to go in completely blind for movies/shows (outside of looking at the general rating to set my expectations). Unless the anime has like 6.5/10 rating or below, then I don't waste time with it. I do read reviews afterwards to see if other people liked it or their take on it.
