Kim Minjung, a KB Investment analyst, predicted that in SM Entertainment is likely to debut 2 new groups this year. This is a bold prediction that is likely to get fans very excited and riled up.

The analyst stated that,“SM Entertainment’s total sales and profit has gone up by 9.9% and 2.5 % respectively and the stocks are suffering from a loss of momentum at the moment since the second half of last year.

Investors are also not feeling as confident due to the lack of success in their new artists in comparison to competing companies. The biggest issue in K-Pop right now is that there needs to be new boy groups to replace TVXQ, once popular veteran boy groups enlist in the army.â€

SM Entertainment sure had a rough year in 2014 with Kris and Luhan from EXO ceasing their activities and the removal of Jessica from Girls’ Generation. Currently they are still embroiled in lawsuits with Kris and Luhan and have yet to reach an agreement in mediations.

Kim Minjung also said, although it’s impossible to predict how well these new groups will fare, it is inevitable that at least two new groups will be formed. Also, this will be the start of a line up of rookies that was severely lacking in SM Entertainment recently.

What are your thoughts on the predictions?

Kpop wont be expanding any more than it is right now and new fans are not that hardcore compared to old ones other than online voting things and most of them multifandom so I dont think any current or rookie group can keep up with TVXQ hype in terms of sales and publicity that they had at their prime time (And still have).

SM should sit back and accept the reality :)

As long as Exo has at least two comebacks this year SM can do debut who ever they want :D

^^^^

I don't think they will debut 2 groups, only one but they will probably make some sub-units like they did with EXO.

I understand that the oldest SMRookie from the new boy group, a gorgeous blond guy (Hansol ,if I remember correctly)  is one year younger than me and the others are under 20, so not interested in this group,  exo are enough for me to support, my generation.

No sm rookie group can keep up with tvxq ... but if they debut this boy group, I'll keep an eye on Hansol from time to time to watch his evolution.

Are they forgetting Super Junior?

They're profitable too

It's true no new group can replace TVXQ though.....

I think thats because Super Junior's reputation in SK was never as bright as TVXQ's.

People never cared even though SJ is the biggest cash cows in not only SM but whole Kpop industry.

Such hypocrites tbvh
