Comedian Jang Dong Min tears up as he talks about the encouragement he received from Yoo Jae Suk a few years ago.

On the February 22 episode of the JTBC show “Inside Story Salon,†Jang Dong Min, one of the hosts, shares a story of how Yoo Jae Suk helped him through a difficult period in his life and enabled him to become the man he is today. He says, “About a year or two ago, I was in a slump and going through a difficult time. At that time, I all of a sudden asked for Yoo Jae Suk’s phone number and called him.â€

Jang Dong Min continues to tell the story of how Yoo Jae Suk met with him even though he called him out of the blue. Yoo Jae Suk met up with Jang Dong Min, ordered a soda, and listened to all Jang Dong Min had to say. Jang Dong Min sheds tears as he tells how Yoo Jae Suk’s encouragement changed his approach to broadcasts and helped him be more successful.

Fellow host Yoon Jong Shin lightens the mood by asking, “Can you cry while talking about me, too?†Jang Dong Min cleverly answers, “Are you sick?â€

I like him but there are times I don't find him as entertaining as other hosts/comedians but he seems like a very good person. I can understand why he gets picked as host for tv shows. He tries to ask questions to all people (non popular ones too)and tries to get them involved into conversations if someone is quite or left out.

Yeah he's a great person and his childish humor is good for wide appeal but he's boring as fuck.

He doesn't really crack jokes as much as his other hosts (probably because he wants to give spotlight to others) and his style of joke is being witty or play on words which i-fans most of the time doesn't understand.

If you watch Mudo or RM, when he decides to crack joke and do body gags, he's all the cameraman/director focus on. I watch the recent RM (with Seunggi & others) where YJS's screentime is pretty much the entire half of the show. And an episode of Mudo where he's so talkative at their intro he ate up all the screentime, lol To be fair, he's really funny when he wants to.

He's getting daesang left and right for years not because he's accommodating to guests, it's just a part of the reason, it's because he's straight up funny and a brilliant host.

Agree with this 100%, I have watched planty of other shows and I do find other MCs funny but they aren't on the same level as him imo, he is spontaneous (idk if it's the right word lol) and casual so his gags comes off so naturely plus his face alone would make you laugh lol, he is truly amazing.

He's a great person no doubt. I think alot of gagman and MCs lead problematic and troubled lives since they're so lowly looked down upon and the industry is so vicious, Yoo Jae Suk must be like Jesus in the community.

To those saying that he's not funny, I can see where you're coming from. I think he kinda tame down alot in recent years. He's still good nowadays but many years ago, especially when there was a Yoo Jae Suk - Kang Ho Dong rivalry, he was da bomb!

I guess old age, lack of competition and family somehow resulted in a drop in quality. He's still very professional and good tho.
