Ok perhaps not 12 years a slave since it's a drama. Cloud Atlas might also be considered one...

I'm not really sure what counts as an American movie though, as I'm sure some of the ones I've mentioned were made by Englishmen/Aussies.

 

There are some action movies I enjoyed but I generally can't remember their names...
