the gaming scene has vastly changed and it wouldn't be as easily unique or awe-inspiring in the more diverse scene of today (when at the time of its announcement shooters still dominated the western markets).

 

with almost ten years under its belt, the game HAD BETTER BE FUCKING FLAWLESS and utterly impactful or it'll be a massive let down.

but with some team members leaving and missing an entire gaming generation, i highly doubt that will be the case.

I find it sad how Ueda can't leave this project alone, he's treating it as his lost baby. He should move on and start something new.

 

Tbh some time ago I thought about it and if they still want to do this, they should move whole project and Ueda under ThatGameCompany. Because they said some time ago they would like to try making big game in Journey style (which is closer to Ico and SotC than anything else from modern gaming world) but has 0 experience. This could be good "training" for them. But well, it won't happen.

 

I would love to get this game (I'm still playing Ico and Colossus from time to time) and when I'm watching all those teasers tor Final Fantasy XIII Versus after so many years (and after Square murdered Final Fantasy brand), I'm still hoping.
