Three women arrested in Scotland over 'Fifty Shades of Grey' attack

The Scotsman newspaper reported that the victim was attacked after he asked a group of "rowdy women" to be quiet.

Police responded to the incident, which took place at Grosvenor Cinema in Glasgow's west end on Saturday night.

G1 Group, which owns the Grosvenor Cinema, denied reports that the victim was glassed, or stabbed, with a wine bottle, saying those involved didn't need hospital attention.

"This was an isolated incident that was dealt with rapidly by cinema staff and stewards, as a result of which, Police Scotland attended and made an arrest."

Scottish police said three women, aged 31, 38 and 51 were arrested for alleged disorder offences and an alleged assault after officers attended the disturbance in the movie theatre.

The film, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, was released across the UK Feb. 13. Based on E.L. James' bestselling book, Fifty Shades of Grey follows the erotically-charged relationship of naive literature student Anastasia Steele and wealthy businessman Christian Grey.

It has broken the UK record for the biggest opening of an 18-rated film, taking in £4.6 million ($7 million) on Friday night alone.
