A.K.A bored Sad trying to procrastinate his life away

So basically I was bored and was lurking OH as usual. Stumbled across this thread, and it piqued my interest, so I was trying to find a way to answer the question.

My method:

  • Gather a large list of all the thread titles that were made on OneHallyu.
  • Generate a list of all words that were used on thread titles, and count the number of occurences

Assumptions:

  • Artists/groups should be referred with their name capitalized -> only considering words that start with a capital or numeric character.
  • It's hard to process Kolean characters, so I only consider English words

Drawbacks:

  • This cannot account for artists/groups with name of 2 words and above (so sorry for many groups like Big Bang, Girl's Day or many other groups :((((). I did the counting word-by-word so something like Kim Taeyeon would be counted separately (1 for  "Kim" and 1 for "Taeyeon")

Okie and here is my finding

EDIT: okie scrap the old one this is the more correct one

It goes as     in order of rank

P/s : I can't believe how bored I was...

who are making thread titles with the number 38?

TL;DR: It's the '&' character

warning:technical jargon

It's a special character.

so there are special characters that may cause troubles for machines to read, like ';' '%', '&' etc

so for storing it is often store as something else so the machines would be able to read without any problem (it's called escape characters)

the character '&' would be stored as '&'

I stripped the words of extra characters, so in the end you can only see 38 in the list

okay now that makes sense (similar to &nbsp?).  I literally thought there were a good amount of threads that had the number 38 in their thread titles.
