I HAVE 2 QUESTIONS FOR THE FUTURE VISITORS PLS GIVE ME YOU POV ON THIS

 

1) So as you all know, kaisoo is called the BTS couple. They barely ever do skinship on stage and like 80% of their moments happen off cam.

 

My question is according to you how come their relationship is so... idk how to word it...secretive? low key?

 

They both allow themselves to joke around with other members and do skinship, kyungsoo willingly hugs other members (even if not often) but I've never seen him hug kai like a real hug, similarly kai often backhugs other members but I don't remember him back-hugging kyungsoo whether it's fan-service or not so why does kaisoo restrain themselves so much in public?

 

Some people say that jongin avoids kyungsoo on cam bcoz he knows what bothers him but we all know that soo has a high tolerance when it comes to jongin right? Plus if he does fan service with others why not with jongin?

 

So yeah I really find it strange that being so close they still don't show it more on cam. I mean, is it bcoz their relationship is genuine and deep? they think that showing it might cheapen it?

 

Also some people think that they're both really private but they both "showcase" their friendships with chan and tae whether you think it's pushed or not by SM is another story which leads me to the 2nd question

 

2) Am I the only one who feels like even the company is participating in helping them being low key about their friendship?

 

If we take in account that theory that SM pushes some ships bcoz of the fans... You're free to believe it or not personally idk what to think about it but it serves my argumentation lol

 

They are very close right? So they could push them to please the numerous kaisoo shippers right? It's not like they wouldn't know their manager can perfectly tell the company who gets along better with who etc.

But i've never seen kaisoo paired by the company. They never do anything together and we only have certain infos like jongin saying that they speak banmal or chanyeol saying that they became the closest, the fact that they(ve been shaing the same room for a long time... certain little things that make it "official"

 

During showtime it was all about baeksoo and sekai, they've never done sukira together, no mc gig...nothing.

 

If i'm not mistaken, the only moments were they are officially paired are during the CF's.

 

So there I'm confused and i'd really like you guys to enlighten me.

EDIT: maybe the next promotion will prove me wrong but i'd still like to know your pov about what happened until now.

I pretty much agree with everything you said and for a while now I've been thinking the same. I've been following Exo since 2012 and  and a fan of Kaisoo since the beginning. Honestly, to this day I still can't grasp the actual nature of their relationship. This is something about their bond/friendship that seems off to me, not in a negative way but rather in a mysterious/intriguing way. It gives me that  "  WHAT AM I MISSING HERE ?" kind of feeling. 

 

Both of them have close friends within and outside their circle like Tae for Kai and Chan for D.O and I watched many many vids where they interact with other people and yet none give me that kind of weird vibe I get from their exclusive interactions.  With Tae, Kai is carefree, quite spontaneous and in a sense more his age ( the way you would be around your best friend) . With Chan, D.O is playful, mischievous and more fun than his usually guarded self ( the way you would be around an old comfortable friend). 

 

But when they're together, that lightness seems to tumble down and some sort of undecipherable tension settles around them instead. They become extremely aware of one another even when they don't talk : subtle glances, gentle smiles, cautious touches. They're almost TOO careful around one another and in more than one occasion I've seen them purposefully avoid physical/eye contact. This what makes me quite suspicious of their relationship and not Kai's intense stares or D.O's fleeting moments of clingyness. 

 

What confirmed this to me is that one time I was watching Happy Camp I think back in 2013/14. There was that sequence where Exo were teamed up and  asked to imitate physical positions from the screen. The rest of exo playfully rushed to take positions except for Kai and D.O who stayed still on the middle of it all, their eyes locked in an ackward stare. For moment, it actually seemed like they were in some kind of  trance. Then suddenly, they jolted themselves out of it and each went his way. I was like " huh ? what was that ?"

 

I think their relationship is much deeper and complex than it's thought to be, even by their shippers. Maybe it's chemisty, maybe its their personalities bring out different sides of each other. I don't know what is it exactly but I can  tell that their bond is unique and quite different from what they usually share with other people. However, whether it's friendship, romance like some would love to believe it to be or something in between, I have no clue. It's just different.

 

I also second you on the second part. SM seems to have no issue milking genuine friendships and over-promoting them as fanservices ( Chansoo, Baeksoo, SeKai, Kai/Tae....) but when it comes to Kaisoo, somehow they dont seem as ethusiastic. Even worse than that, they seem to intentionally evade it in promotions and shows. I noticed this many times and I quite remember watching a radio interview show where the MC asked which exo ship was the fans' favorite. Suho laughed and playfully hinted at himself and D.O. D.O awckwardly smiled and Kai went to speak up but was cut of by Suho then the MC changed the subject.

It's almost like SM doesnt even acknowledge Kaisoo which is rather funny since its the only ship that was never promoted and yet stands at the top 3 of exo OTP ladder. 

For now, I'm quite convinced that there is something we dont know about those two and as it seems, we will never know.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it weird. A lot of people have a hard time naming the nature of their relationship but knowing that I'm not the only one who's intrigued by the discretion in their friendship is reassuring lol. Tbh I also ship chansoo and they're much more easy to read...

 

It'd be great if you could add gifs or vids to illustrate your examples so that we could see for ourselves becoz I don't remember catching the moments you were describing...

 

About their relationship and why we find it weird you have various hypotheses (this is a mix btwn what i've read about them and my own ideas)

1: fans are just delulu

2: they just share an intense hyung / dongsaeng relationship; some siblings have a really close bond like twins but that can be misconstrued by people since they're not real siblings

3: one of them has one sided romantic feelings for the other but the other is oblivious

4: they have hidden feelings for one another hence the tension

5: they have open feelings but they can't act on them hence the tension lol

6: they're dating and keeping it a secret from the company & the members (hence certain glances and skinship)

7: they're dating and keeping it a secret from the fans only (hence other glances and skinship lol)

8: they just friends but jong has an intense stare with everyone anyways and kgsoo is like a mother hen

9: they're not close at all and they're actually pushed by SM to make it look like they get along (mah obviously this is from non shippers)

 

 

If SM really has something to do with it, it could mean a lot of things:

 

1: they just don't care coz kaisoo is less famous than other ships in korea

2: they asked them but both of them refused coz they felt uneasy with the idea of promoting their friendship (highly doubtable)

3: they're not as close as we think (we don't even want to think about this one lol)

4: they're close but SM doesn't know that which is highly doubtable coz their manager knows them and the rapport they share with all the members

5: they're dating and SM tries to keep them apart as much as possible so that it doesn't get obvious for the fans ( I don't think it's the case since i'm persuaded that ksoo is straight and I mostly think kai is also, although on rare occasions his behavior has me wondering lol)

 

I guess we'll have to wait for the new promos and see.

 

Also it seems people agree with you (u got yourself 2 upvotes ;-)) but it'd be great if more people came to debate about this topic coz

a) it would make the thread more alive and b) I know a lot of people find kaisoo intriguing and to be honest I love this mystery lol

Yes indeed, Chansoo is quite easy to read. When I see them, I see genuine friendship and two people who enjoy and have fun being around each other but that's about it. I dont see underlying tension, I dont see hyper consciousness/awareness  of one another.  With Chansoo, what you see is what you get. Kaisoo is the polar opposite of all that. 

 

About the gifs, I'm sorry I didnt have the time to add them and I was just trying to formulate my opinion from what I could remember. I will try to add some as soon I find them. There are also some new moments I watched and I would love to show them to you. I have this feeling that KaiSoo is going to come back stronger than ever, albeit a bit more subtle.

 

I don't  know how to express this but for a while many thought that KaiSoo pulled away from each other, became distant specially with SM overpromoting other ships but when I see them now, I see none of that. I just see two guys close as always but somehow have learnt to leave their friendship/bond more private/off camera.

 

I will be back with some pics and vids :) I hope others join in as well with their insights. It would be fun.

About that distance that you're talking about I personally used to think that kai was sending glares to soo at some point until I realized that Kai was not in a good period bcoz of his injury and he was moody and out of it anyway which given the circumstances was understandable. Then there was all this taekai promotions, and kaisoo interactions during TPL diminished around the same time so that had me wondering...

I never thought they had stopped talking to each other or whatever but like you said it seemed to me like they were nurturing other friendships at the same time so they prob hung out less but that didn't mean they weren't close anymore.

I still thought that kgsoo was closest to jong after channy...

 

Did you watch the naver starcast show and sukira? what did you think about their interactions?

 

On sukira their was close to no verbal interactions, they weren't sitting next to each other and they didn't ask each other questions so is SM behind it? lol me and my conspiracy theory...

Yeah!! I don't think so too and sometimes he kinda looks pass through Kyungsoo so it would look like that through the camera angle. but whatever...more Kaisoo and they stand next to each other.. I agree anything for kaisoo interactions!! haha!!

OKAY I was watching Sukira and I saw that Kai was wearing a beanie from "comme des garçons" brand and then it reminded me that I had also seen an exo member wearing that brand on sukira a year before:
