I switch between Opera 12 and Avant. Try Yandex if you value visuals over practicality. Vivaldi looks very promising, but it's in early stages of development.

Make sure to get Ultimate Version of Avant. It has IE, Chrome and Firefox engines you can switch between on a fly when you encounter incompatibilities. You can install Chrome and Firefox extensions.

Yandex browser, still in alpha phase, is all about interface - transparent menus, colorful tabs on bottom of page, sites from same domain have identically colored tabs and when you switch to different website they group together to take less space. It's Chromium so you can install Chrome and Opera extensions.

 

 

 

Also, I just remembered Maxthon. I've never tried it but I heard good things about it when I was looking for alt browser when they stopped developing Opera 12.

People recommending Chrome just don't know any better.
