Hello! First time posting in this thread

 

I only started listening to Monsta X songs about 2 weeks ago and really like all the songs on their Rush album

which surprised me because I usually will only like 2-3 tracks from an album

 

Does anyone else feel they should have made Hero their title track?

Rush is catchy but imo Hero makes more of a lasting impression.. and not just because of the abs lol.

Only after listening to Hero did I feel I wanted to know more about them even though I knew of them since Kcon.

I think if they came back with Hero it would have done better than Rush.. kinda feel like a wasted potential

I actually thought so too,but Rush is super catchy and is more upbeat and fun than Hero,and might've appealed more to Korean taste so they went with that. I didn't like Rush as much too but it grew on me,it's so upbeat and it gets stuck in my head often!

Glad they're promoting Hero now tho,although they did a remix of it and tweaked the choreography.TBH Hero is so in your face and makes a more lasting impression,but it could scare off potential fans who aren't into Hiphop. Rush is more public friendly,per se?

Yes the Rush mini is really really good

Too bad this album wasn't their first mini.. probably could have grabbed more attention since it was their debut.

I'm just confused if basing this off of Youtube Hero has more views than Rush

I did think Trespass was a good debut song,just basing off the lyrics which basically said they were going to enter rudely into your bias lists,it's a pretty in your face song just like Hero,but of course the line distribution was so bad,too much Jooheon for the most part although they were actually a hiphop group.

 

...plus a lot of people were disappointed with the survival show,too.

Hi guys! I've been lurking for a week now so I decided to come out and introduce myself. I knew them before but I didn't really bother checking them out. I accidentally watched Hero 2 weeks ago and fell in love lol I watched pretty much all the videos I can find since then. I really like Hero although I wish they didn't change it to the remix thing but it's still great. Kihyun, Minhyuk and IM are my holy trinity but Kihyun is number 1 lol and I don't tend to like all the members of a group but with Monsta X, I actually like all of them.

Monsta X's members are all so likeable aren't they? My bias ranking seems to change so much. My top three now is Wonho-Shownu-IM. XD

 

What videos did you watch already? Maybe the people here can recommend you some other stuff

Personally I didn't like Trespass because like you said it felt like Jooheon ft. other members and it's too in your face (more so than Hero imo). I liked Honestly though. I'm speechless at the amount of backlash from the survival show.. seeing the backlash it probably would have been better just debuting them without it or maybe Starship should have pulled a JYP and just added #gun to the lineup last minute to make it an 8 member group?

 

So true. It was too hard for some I guess, so debuting with Rush or Hero would've been a better option. But I guess it did have impact. And I also liked Honestly, it's my second favorite song from the 1st mini after Steal Your Heart. The backlash was so bad. Starship introduced 12 likeable trainees, all talented or have potential, and the ones they cut were also i-fan favorites. #Gun especially who was my first fave. The guy is an amazing rapper but honestly he is such a bad dancer compared to the others. I was rewatching No.Mercy a while back and I realized while watching the last episode maybe he got cut cause the others' consideration of his dancing by putting him in the back or making special choreo during his parts made him look like he'd drag the group down. Just a random thought tho. I personally think Starship wants #Gun to debut solo.

Tbh if Starship wasn't prepared to debut fan favourites they probably should have just debuted them as whoever they wanted without a survival show. I think the backlash isn't worth the exposure.. reading the comments section of the last episode of No Mercy is really depressing and hope none of the MX members have read it. I think debuting members in their opinion is lacking in certain skills can be improved with practice, but not debuting fan favorites leads to public disappointment which is hard to fix. Twice is so popular because JYP just debuted everyone's favourites whether they were eligible or not (1 was already eliminated) and skilled enough (2 were not really debut ready imho). Currently the 3 most popular members seem to be these 3 so if JYP had not added them their overall group popularity right now might be different.

 

I don't know if they even knew how big it was becoming internationally. Or maybe it was Loen/Mnet's fault?

 

There are a lot of what-ifs,but tbh right now MX looks pretty good. It's important that they mesh well and complement each other as a team. I just hope it becomes more apparent in the line distribution. Wonho's supposed to be lead vocalist right? Or no?

I literally watched all the videos I can find. From their mvs to the v app videos, radio appearances, 5ducks thingy, afreeca tv, weekly idol, asc and all their performances lmao did I miss anything? Oh and I didn't watch No Mercy because I don't see the point in doing so since they're already a group and I don't really like survival shows in general so yeah. I did watch some of the performances tho.

I did notice the jump, but like I said, whether they win or not at least we supported them. There are a lot of strong contenders this year. Besides votes are 10%...

 

I hope they get more popular because their songs are songs are worth listening to. It's a fact that you can never trust a company.

 

I still have to get used to the fandom name, I hope I'm not the only one who thought it was cringy the first time I heard it.

 

Starship in general seems to promote their artists well and slowly make them gain popularity over respective genres/regions, and promote less as time goes by if their artists don't seem to need the support, then focus on others. For a small company they are promoting 1 girl group, 2 boy groups, 4 solo singers and 1 solo rapper (did I miss anyone?) and seem to be doing well in giving each one some share of the spotlight.

 

 

The fandom name takes time to get used to, but it does seem nice whenever they say it.

Hey guys~ Just wanna share something. Do you guys remember Park Sunho?

 

 

He was supposed to be in Monsta X but No.Mercy happened and he left the company I guess. He WAS ALSO supposed to debut in Boyfriend. Well, I'd see why he left the company because he's supposed to debut in 2011 but then was pushed back to 2014 (No.Mercy happened around Nov) and he left lol. But I'm surprised to see Yoonho still staying in the company.

 

 

 

I always thought those were Donghyun+Minwoo+the Jo twins. If those weren't actually the Jo twins (I know which one is Donghyun and Minwoo is obviously the cute shortie)which one was Sunho? 

I always thought Sunho wanted to be an actor, maybe he agreed to be an idol-actor, and was in an agreement like Dasom. Cause I know Dasom also wanted to be an actress originally.
