Prince Ten ♚ 3,050 Posted February 14, 2015 Share Posted February 14, 2015 idk and i probably will never understand Starship, but i came into No Mercy as a NUBOYZ stan and i wanted to watch it because they were going to be on the show. i actually opposed the idea of them participating at first because i thought that they were obviously going to debut anyway since Starship promoted them and all that shit, so there was no need for them to be on this show. to me at the time NUBOYZ was already a perfect group ready to go, and i didn't like the idea of having new members added as it turns out they are gonna debut but only 3/4 of them made it lol 1- They concluded that the group was weak 2- They wanted more members 3- They wanted to promote the group I really think Nuboyz needed another vocal. It's my opinion. They then made the program and created a stronger group. I think Monsta is better commercially. And I prefer 7 members. IM is better than Gun in rap, and complements Joo. Kihyun is the voice that was missing in the group. Min and Hyun are visually more flashy. Again: I like the Gun. But can only be two... I waited for all the teasers to come out and I didn't even kno who Giriboy is etc... I paused on that certain scene in the Soyu teaser where everyone showed their face along with their number.. I started looking for the attractive ones and I could barely pick since it was fast and they're faces were small.. Until finally this picture came out.. I went straight to naming who will be in my list according to looks etc... 1) Jooheon 2) Wonho 3) Hyungwon 4) Kihyun 5) Shownu 6) Yoonho 7) #Gun 8) Minhyuk 9) Seokwon 10) Yoosu 11) KWanji 12) Minkyun I watched the "Who are you?" videos so much just to determine if my list was right... Then finally No.Mercy started.. Deokspatch videos came out...Collab music came out... And in the end I found out what they're good at, what their attractive points are etc... MY list became from the list on the top, to this when 5:5 mission finished.. 1) Hyungwon 2) Jooheon 3) Wonho 4) Shownu 5) Kihyun 6) Minhyuk 7) I.M 8) Yoonho 9) #gun 10) Seokwon What about you guys? Your list from the beginning and to now changed like how mine did? I always thought they were all talented. But I was attentive to: Yoonho - loved him first. Cute, lovely and sweet Wonho - I saw the teaser and Every episode I came to admire him more. Minhyuk - I saw the teaser, Preeeeettyyyyyy. His teeth: 3 And in the show he charmed me even more. These were the main, in the sense of charm and character. With regard to talent ... changed every episode. Anyway love the final lineup. Love all. I am satisfied with the Monsta X, I like everyone in the group. Love Gun, Seokwon, Kwang Ji too. Song-wise, I like the direction they were going during No Mercy and I would definitely look forward to further Starship-Just Music collaborations. 0 Young, Hieut and Interstellar were all solid releases in my opinion (I can't remember much of No Exit though) so I wouldn't mind Starship signing up some of the judges as producers. I think Giriboy especially has a knack for making songs with a catchy hook which incorporate rapping. Nochang is not as public friendly, but I wouldn't mind him either, as long as the members can pull it off. Now the hip hop concept... I'm a little worried as it can go wrong in so many ways (e.g. Zico's 'Tough Cookie'), not to mention it's been done to death in the last two years. What with the entertainment market oversaturation, it won't be easy for them to carve a niche for themselves unless they deliver something fresh and new. We don't need another Block B or BTS. Furthermore, Ikon is slated to debut around the same time and will no doubt be their biggest competitor. At this point I'm just tired of the gold chains and bat swinging (I cringed so hard at that Jooheon & Gun 'Who are you?' video) and want to see something else. Styling-wise, I'm hoping for something similar to what they wore in the 1st Look photoshoot, it looked young yet high fashion. Wow I rambled a lot. Anyway, what are your opinions? Agree/disagree? I agree with you. There are many forms of hiphop. I know the hiphop groups usually debut with a style dark, badboy. But ... I would like a more fun hiphop, as Interstellar (I loved). The rap line has striking voices, they do not need a badass concept. I'm sure ikon will debut with this type of concept, MX has to be different. They can continue with the futuristic visual concept. I think he was the leader of Nuboyz. Right? If they keep the positions, Wonho perhaps remains the main vocal and Ki Hyun lead vocal. Or Wonho leader dance and Ki Hyun main vocal. Not only is his direction lacking, but he's a bit TOO introverted to lead effectively imo. Wonho would make a much better leader. Shownu's such a wallflower to me, he really only shines when preforming. It would have made more sense to choose Wonho. If he was leader of Nuboyz... I understand. They kept the positions.
