Hi everyone! I'm new to this Monsta X thread...I feel like I should introduce myself and how I became a fan this group if you don't mind 

 

I had my eyes on this group for quite a while, I would say since their Rush album was first released. I freaking loved every song on that album esp Hero/Perfect Girl/ Amen and soon after checked out Trespass album. When All In came out of course I automatically liked the song & video...basically I've been liking this group in terms of music pretty much which is SO FUCKING UNDERRATED!!!

 

Even during All In era I still didn't know any of the members too well, just knew some faces/names here & there. Even though I really didn't want to stan another group cause being multi fandom gets too much sometimes. I was like you know what I think it's time I watch their variety shows, etc. Lemme tell y'all, I spent the last two days watching everything & anything of Monsta X on YouTube except for the No Mercy vids (I'm not ready for the emotional damage yet)...and pretty much I am just a little bit obsessed with them at the moment. I swear my bias changed like 3-4 times matter of two days 

 

I forgot to say RISE Monsta X RISE. I am seriously rooting for them cause they are talented ash hell.

 

 

 

Btw I read a lot of comments on youtube vids of Monsta X, and I'm really liking Monbebes. They are very chill and nice for the most part and I really hope it will stay like this with rising fame of Monsta X. Being a older fan it's nice seeing chill fans ya know. I know that every fandom has bad seeds and blah blah but there are some kpop fandoms out there that really scary and aggressive smh. Let me stop babbling lol

Welcome! I am also very new to Monsta X and after really enjoying their discography finally am checking out their shows (sadly No Mercy  ) and getting really into them!

 

 

And I'm also an older fan who likes that Monbebes are a little less.... intense? and invasive in the boy's lives.

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome! Yeah I watched only one No Mercy vid.  O (Young) song, and I actually had that song in my phone for long ass time and now only realized all these member of Monsta X was in it. I'm like ohhhh

#Gun is killing me. I started watching this expecting to get to know and love the members of Monsta X and here I am falling for someone who didn't even make it....... (And I am a bit attached to Yoonho too...)

 

At least he did debut and has a great song out right now.

 

Anyway! I finally bought the Monsta X lightstick and once I hit 300 posts, I think I will get the award.

I'm really getting into this group. 

 

I watched that one video from No Mercy days where some of the members were singing along to Winner's Empty and I was like who's this hilarious guy and then read comments saying he's Gun he didn't make it to Monsta X I was like fuuuuu*k lol. I know I'm gonna get attached to some of guys who didnt make the final cut.

 

I'm already considering getting the badge haha. Same here I'm so into this group, I'm legit going through withdrawals right now (heh heh) I feel like I watched all their variety videos. They haven't been on Running Man yet right?

 

 

 

Okay I'd like to welcome all the new Monbebes here. All of you have chosen the right group to stan. Why?

 

First of all, their discography is improving within every single comeback. I can honestly say that Trepass wasn't a good choice for a debut song. I felt like it just was another typical 'hep-hap' boy group song. As time goes by, Rush came out and it wasn't so bad, but I felt like it wasn't that great either. All of the sudden All In came in and I suddenly felt revived. Not to mention all the tracks in The Clan Pt. 1 Album was full of bops that varies in different genres.

 

Now let's talk about the members. Each of them are bias wreckers, let's be honest. Not only are they bias wreckers, but they are all so talented. Shownu is awkward and stiff like a robot, but when he's on stage, he's a whole different person. His moves are smooth, but I'm sad he hasn't shown his full potential on Hit The Stage. The deadly Wonho who seems to have the most fans. He knows what he's doing to attract fans and I can say that it's working for him. I'm happy that he's starting to compose and write songs for the group. Minhyuk who may seem like the maknae, but is actually one of the old farts in the group. He has a beagle-like personality that just makes you want to treasure him. I can see him going big in the variety department. The evil Kihyun who always wants to eat chicken and ruin it for the members. He is very talented as a vocalist and I'm great that he's snatching a bunch of OSTs. The man who look like he came out of an anime Hyungwon. I feel like Hyungwon and Minhyuk are often misunderstood as talentless members; when in actuality, they can sing. It's just they aren't given the opportunity to showcase their vocals. He's also a very dorky member and likes to ruin his image as a visual. Our maknaes Jooheon and IM. People seem to think Jooheon looks scary, but he's pretty much a baby. A baby who is full of aegyo, scared of everything, and pretty much is as soft as one. IM is very sly and will often tease the members. He likes to bite Shownu and slap the other members. He's witty and mischievious. Not to mention the maknaes compose and write their own raps.

 

Another important factor that is that their company Starship does a good job of promoting the boys. They have had several reality shows so you can get to know the members better. Often promoting on variety shows and having comebacks back to back along with special stages. I can understand why people want the boys to rest, but if you think about it. The boys need to promote nonstop to so that they can build their fan base or else they will be forgotten as boy groups are constantly coming in and out. When they have a big fan base, they can take it slow.  Been letting the boys post selcas on the daily, and even has their own videos where you can see the boys lifestyle. They not too long ago, had a concert in Seoul, which sold out quick. They are starting to now have fan meetings at different countries starting with the Philippines. The fandom is growing quickly and I hope y'all see the good side of the fandom.

Oh wow really nice comment, thank you for the warm welcome!   Yeah I  def. see what you mean, I don't think they stood out their full potential with Trespass cause there were similar concepts around that time from other groups however Trespass is hella lit song though. It's def. one of my fave from theirs haha.

 

All In era is definitely their revival era, I've see many people interest in Monsta X spike when All In and Stuck was released. Monsta x will def rise...they are gonna get big soon, I just know it

you and i have similar stories for how we ended up stanning mx~ I liked them for their music for a few months but then when i actually got to know the members i became trash and there was no going back lol

 

i agree with you about the fandom. I think mx tends to attract more older (as in age) fans than other new groups, and a lot of people who have been into kpop for a few years seem to like mx also

not that they don't have young fans because they do, but i feel like they have a lot of older fans too.

i think it helps that the members themselves are a bit older too. most groups that debuted within the past year or two are comprised mainly of people born in the latter half of the 90's to the early 2000's but all of mx except im were born in the first half of the 90's.

idk i think it makes them a bit more relateable to older fans

 

Hi there! That's cool how we got similar stories in stanning them! Yep I totally agree with you, I'm glad MX aren't too young I'm just a little older than Shownu lol. There's all these new groups nowadays & they're so  freaking young tho, I feel weird sometimes fangirling to them haha. Then again age is nothing but a number as they say esp when it comes to music.

I'm probably the oldest noona in this thread, and I truly have no business liking these 20-something boys as much as I do. I also triple-bias Jooheon, I.M, and Kihyun, because that's how impossible it is to choose one.

 

And I know this was a few days ago, but "no amazing rappers?" It amazes me how people are so eager to display their ignorance.

As much as I loved the Jack Frost look on him, I'm really glad to see dark hair Minhyuk since their debut days. His hair needs this, after all that bleaching. I need time getting used to Kihyun's hair lol never expected it would be pink and I actually like IM & Wonho's hair.

I saw some comments on Minhyuk's teaser saying it got re-uploaded apparently? Why does Starship continue to do this, they have done this before put video up and then delete it like hours later and post it again. Late to the party as usual.Anyways you guysss, this will be my first actual comeback with Monsta X!!!    I totally missed All In era but now I'm here and all is good. I'm honestly so freaking excited & def. getting impatient in anticipation of the album release/comeback ahhhh. I can't stop replaying the album preview, these songs sounds so good... feeling so blessed.

 

Fighter sounds so diff. than their previous title tracks, really excited about it!

 

Be Quiet sounds really goooooooood, like the second coming of Hero which I freaking love.

 

Why isn't anyone talking about BLIND tho, it sounds like the ultimate RnB BOP (insert body rolls). Plus it sounds like the cover Kihyun & Jooheon did of Hold Me Tight ( by Loco ft. bae aka Crush, not the BTS one). Kihyun is gonna slay this song with ad-libs.

 

I'm liking how Roller Coaster sounds good too, it's upbeat funky-ish but not too much and seems def. catchy.

Blind is B-Side of the year tho and anyone denying this can sit.

 

 

I can just feel that I'm gonna have Blind on repeat, there's just something about it's style that's totally the kind of thing I always listen to~

 

And gotta say I wasn't feeling Pale Girl/White Girl/Whatever it's translated to so much at first but after playing the video on repeat for most of the day I'm starting to really get into it.

 

 

Blind reminds me of something Dean would release, or at least his more chill laid back tracks. I'm feeling it so much. I always wanted them to experiment with House/RnB and this album looks like it's gonna be exactly that.

 

I'm still not feeling White Girl, the only song I'm not into atm but who knows that might change once the song is released.

 

All this Blind love tho   I need to listen to the whole song asap  I really enjoy mid tempo rnb music so this is right up my alley which is why I know it will def be on repeat. I don't understand the MV yet, I seen some continuity from All In but they all have diff hair, what does this mean...

 

but what I do know is that this song sounds amazingg, has a rock vibe to it which is so diff from their previous title tracks. Coming for that versatile title.

just wanna drop by and say that they have produced another bopfest of an album  I don't think I like Fighter as much as I did All In (which is pretty much my favorite Monsta X title track to date) but the rest of the album is still solid imo. And the music video.. I've pretty much given up on trying to understand lol

 

Competition is pretty tough this month so I hope it doesn't discourage some people if they don't eventually get to win.. but it's good to be optimistic at least

There's too much competition with all these comebacks this month, so it's okay and not to mention MX is still a young group, and a lot of groups don't get their first win till 3rd year or even later. I feel like the special clip might be the Dance version MV & a self cam MV (leaning toward White Girl or Roller Coaster)

 

I don't know why people expect Monsta X will have this instant success all of the sudden and calling them flop when their expectation doesn't come true. Monsta X is doing fine for a new group, i wish those people would calm the f down (some of them are not even monbebes pssh).

Even BTS win their first win on their 2nd year after their debut.

 

People on OH loves calling everyone and their mother a flop like STFU. Anyways when you hear things like that MX flopped, MX tanked, we should just ignore them and lowkey be happy bc this means Monsta X are becoming relevant here thus causing all these trolling.

 

Exactly you said, you can't expect instant success from MX esp them not coming from the Big 3, so people should chill out. This is a bit off topic but for the sake of putting things in perspective, even SNSD my ultimate bias groups didn't get their big success till Gee. They had so much haters/anti in beginning of their career and they overcame it and achieved so much and yet till this day you have ppl calling them flops and shit  You gotta just ignore it cause they are just trying to stir the pot.

Ahh the live sounds amazing and but omg I didn't expect certain lines to be sung by certain members woahh. Those lyrics vids got some parts wrong... yikes there gonna have to redo or edit them.

 

Btw had to look away from Kihyun cause he kept dancing the whole freaking time and I don't wanna get spoiled before I see the live performance (is that weird lol) .For main vocalist, he's always dancing

Finally backtracked, yes this thread is getting more active!

 

I also notice this. Everytime on the live radio he always having body-movement during singing, others prob also do that, but him is kinda noticeable because it's kind of catching attention since it looks as if he also sing with his body like he really enjoy it so much.

 

Yeah it's quite noticeable with him. I was watching some of his Stuck fancam  and he's always dancing when it's not his part esp during Jooheon's rap, it's actually really cute. I honestly thought he was one of the main dancers when I came across the Mirotic cover  cause he's so expressive and such dances really well it wasn't till the high notes I realized he's main vocal haha (when I was a casual fan before learning all of their names).

I really liked the Be Quiet outfits , white shirt & jeans so simple yet hot. To be honest I'm quite unimpressed with stage sets so far for Monsta X wth why is it so underwhelming, dark and what's up with the stupid blinding lights and smoke. Seriously, I could not even see the choreo properly nor them towards the end.

 

I hope the stage sets will get better, they deserve better.Now on a positive note, I'm glad they didn't wear those fugly pants yay

I seriously love how Wonho looks in every Be Quiet performance, I freaking love it when his hair is up and when he's not wearing those ugly crop tops

 

So glad they finally got nicer stage, I like how it was elevated and looked like they were in the streets of NYC which went the the [street] fight moves (ayeee, let me pretend they're in my hometown), plus  less blinding lights & no fugly pant.

Is it just me that liking the direction they take with The Clan series? I love Hero to death but i feel like songs like Fighter really makes Monsta X stand out from other hip hop groups who do your typical edm trap hip hop song.

 

Right now they just need to keep this up and find the right timing for release something daebak.

 

 

About people complaining about their music this year, I think most of it comes from just casual fans who listened to hero and now want every song to have a drop and it gets kind of annoying tbh. Like yeah it is nice to have songs like that but that shouldn't be all they focus on and if people don't wanna support for that reason then it's not much of a loss.

 

Yeah I def. agree with both of your comments.It was the CLAN series that made me finally join the fandom, MX have variety in their discography they can go from Trespass-->Amen-->Perfect Girl-->Broken Heart-->All In-->Ex-Girl--> Because of U-->Fighter.Such a shame, Monsta X's music is being slept on 

 

I do think it is mostly the casual fans that are complaining about the musical direction bc let's be honest they don't really care about the musical direction MX are going or whether they are exploring & experimenting with music, whether if they're music is evolving or not unless it's their faves. I personally would only be concerned and wary if they ever fully go the cutesy way but I doubt that will happen tho.

 

Basically people want catchy bops... which Monsta X actually does have in their album (Be Quiet, Queen, Blind says Hi). If only these people would actually check out whole damn album. I get so frustrated with people who only bases musicality on fucking title tracks, such a pet peeve of mine.I'm not saying listen to every group's B-side but you should come to conclusion whether a group has good music or not after listening to most of their songs at least, B-sides included. I just totally went a bit off topic, my bad.

Many people said from Monsta X debut that I.M looks like B.I and B-Bomb while his behavior is similar to DO (that blank stare and 4D personality)

 

I don't know DO that much but i think this kid is weirder than DO lmao.

 

Idk about the personality but I agree he def. looks like mix of B.I. & B-bomb. I would say the only thing similar to D.O probably is the maturity they have for their age and the straight faced stares he does (ie the Roller Coaster lmao) but I think IM is more outgoing.

 

His personality won me over on variety shows, he is so unexpectedly hilarious and WITTY. People don't appreciate wittiness anymore cause it's more subtle than in your face funny which more suitable for Korean audience.

By far one for the most funniest and entertaining clip of MX. I came across this video what like about a month ago, up until this point I was just slightly familiar with the group and some of their music but this video made me want to actually get to know the group more and now I stan them lol how times flies by.

When they wanted to go to the "MonBebe (?) Dont worry" they repeated the line "xxx hajima" several times, and I was like I feel familiar, seems I heard a lo to that lately. And just realized later it from Lee Hyori U Go Girl. and it because I lately playing this a lot.

 

 

Lol you were actually right, they did say  "go min ho min hajima" at first  basically means don't worry (safe to assume it's U Go Girl ref. bc of they way they said it) and soon after they sang BAP's Stop It which has the lyrics "hajima" in it. I have listen to both of these songs a lot.

Omg finally, fuck yessss!!   Lowkey was hoping it would be Halloween themed lol nonetheless, I'm happy we can finally see the choreography without the blinding lights & horrible camera angles. The choreo honestly is so precise and intense, I love it.
