Actor Yeo Jin Goo is currently in talks to star as the male lead in KBS’ new Friday drama “Orange Marmalade.â€

On February 9, a representative of the actor’s agency, Janus Entertainment, told MBN Star, “Yeo Jin Goo has received a casting offer for the lead role in ‘Orange Marmalade’ and is currently looking it over.â€

The rep continued, “While he has received the offer, he is still reviewing it. The specific details will be decided after the Lunar New Year.â€

“Orange Marmalade†is based on an original webtoon series by the same name. It is a fantasy romance that tells the love story between a transfer student named Baek Ma Ri, who hides her identity as a vampire, and a popular male student named Jung Jae Min.

If Yeo Jin Goo accepts the offer, it will be his first return to the small screen since starring in tvN’s “Potato Star,†which ended its run in May of last year.

The production team of “Orange Marmalade†is in the middle of lining up a cast, aiming to premiere this coming May

kim yoo jung for female lead pleaseeeeee :ilove:

Ooh she's actually a good choice for the female lead. She fits the image of her.

I've read the webtoon but I don't really like it, dropped it in the middle.

I wish Cheese In The Trap is remade faster than this webtoon. It's been a while since the news of CITT being remade came out, but there's no new news after that.

OG is completed so it's probably easier to work w/ whereas CITT is still ongoing. They'll either have to attempt to adapt the drama w/ the intention of possibly producing additional seasons or create their own original ending. I'm personally not looking forward to the drama ver. of CITT. It's being made by Group Eight aka quite possibly the worst Korean production company. They have a horrible track record (BOF, Playful Kiss, Nae Il's Cantabile).

I don't think Nae Il's Cantabile is a bad remake, it's pretty good actually. But is it true that the right of CITT has been bought by Group Eight? I've never heard about that.

About CITT, due to the nature of the story I think it's suited to be broadcasted on TvN more than public broadcast. If it were to be published on public broadcast I'm a bit scared that they will change the nature of the story to be more dramatic/worse to suits viewers' taste.

My source was this random drama blog.

Right now, I just checked to see if there were other sources and Soompi says it's not Group Eight, but Eight Works who did God's Quiz. I guess I should've checked other sources first before freaking out.

Okay so maybe the CITT adaptation won't be as bad I think it'll be. .

Yeah I agree. Yeah I agree that CITT would be better for cable.

To make this OM related, I love how Yeo Jin Gu is the right age to play Jae Min. I hope the drama gods are smiling down upon us and he says yes because there are so only so many age appropriate roles for teenagers in dramaland and most of which goes to actors in their 20s. It feels awkward hearing actors who are older than me in the talks to play high school students when I'm too old to be in high school.

Yeo Jin Goo as lead  :rlytearpls:  My baby's all grown-up now! As much as I'd love to see Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Yoo Jung in a project together again, I don't wish for it to be this one. I wish it would be something relatively awesome. Much like their first two projects together, Iljimae and Moon-Sun *o* A girl can dream, right?  :rlytearpls:  Their portrayals in Moon-Sun would still be one of my Top 3 most memorable scenes in Korean drama history.  :rlytearpls:
