Lovelyz vs. Sonamoo vs. GFRIEND

Now that all these groups have debuted for a while and we know more about them, it should be easier now to tell which group is better at skills than others

This is my ranking

Best Song

1. Sonamoo's De Ja Vu- the most interesting song for me to listen to out of the three

2. GFRIEND's Glass Bead

3.  Lovelyz's Candy Jelly Love- even though Lovelyz had a strong debut, I thought this song was weak and didn't showcase much of their potential either

 

 

Best Vocals

1. Lovelyz- this group has quite a few strong singers

2. GFRIEND- most of the singers in are average but their main vocalist is one of the best rookie vocalist I've heard so far and very stable as well. She can sing a high note straight after just doing a high kick

3. Sonamoo- they probably have the weakest main vocalist out of the three

 

 

Best Dancers

1. Lovelyz- very synchronized while dancing but with the easiest choreography out of the three

2. GFRIEND- good synchronization

3. Sonamoo- dancing is a little sloppy but hardest choreography out of these three groups

 

 

Best Performer

1. GFRIEND- I've watched a lot of the new girl groups performances and they seem to be the most natural and charismatic on stage

2. Lovelyz

3. Sonamoo- they seemed to be focused more on getting their moves right than trying to entertain the audience. It might just be because the dance is a little to hard for them but I haven't really been impressed with any of the performances I've watched of them

 

Best Visuals

1. GFRIEND

2. Sonamoo

3. LOvelyz

Well, if you're really curious about my likely biased opinion, I'll vote in the poll.

Lovelyz trumps all, in my opinion.

 

Gfriend just seems so plain and unappealing to me.  they only have one good vocal, and only one stand out beauty but everything else is pure mediocrity. but i won't hate on them for doing their thing, they just aren't for me.

 

and i don't really like Sonamoo. the only good thing about them was their choreo and it didn't help that they debuted while all this BAP lawsuit stuff is happening.

Gfriend are better performers overall  IMO but I have to say that these three girl groups have good dancers, especially Lovelyz and Gfriend more than recent girl groups that did similar concepts. It's a bit unfortunate that Lovelyz didn't have have another song/concept that could showcase their talents. Gfriend and Sonamoo need to work on their vocals a little bit more. I think out of these 3 girl groups Lovelyz wins when it comes to vocals but Yuju is  the best main vocalist among the three groups. 

 

I don't know how to rank them because I might come off a bit biased

Objectively speaking.....

 

Lovelyz- Good points

• Stable live. No breathing or stamina issues. 
• Good vocalists and good music to showcase their skills; exception being CJL 
• Good dancing skills. They are the more synchronized group out of the 3. 
• Have excellent acapella skills. Their harmonization is top notch. 
• They are really pretty.

Bad points:

• Candy Jelly Love was not the best to show off their vocal ability especially since their album had far superior songs on it.

 

GFriend- Good Points

• They are fresh and energetic.  
• Glass Bead is a good song which people are really liking
• Their dancing is also good. 
• They are very cute. They give off that girl next door vibe perfectly.

Bad Points:

• Their breathing is a problem. They seem to not have trained heavily dancing and singing at the same time.
• Their acapella lives need work. They are okay but their harmonization needs work. And to sing within their range. 

 

Sonamoo- Good Points

• Their music is good. Deja Vu is a jam
• Their dance skills are top notch
• They are really pretty
• They have great stage presence. 

Bad Points- 

• They also have breathing problems. I watched a few of their earlier performances. And while they were good I felt they could be much better when they get their stamina under control. 

My rank would be Lovelyz, Sonamoo, and finally GFriend.
