Not sure this is the right place, but I hope it's close enough?

Anyway, with this thread out, I was just curious where most ppl buy their things/what kind of marketshare yesasia and other stores have.  I thought the first three I listed should be major retailers for kpop fans, but I don't really know.

Also, are there extenuating circumstances that affect your purchases, for example if you're also into jpop/cpop so you buy from yesasia so you can bundle all that together, or if you buy via a fanclub/other organization that purchases things for you so you don't really decide?

EDIT: poll has been edited very clumsily >.>

kpoptown's shipping costs tho...

Kpopmart >>>

kpoptown's shipping cost is LOW if you're only buying the one album your fave is releasing rn.

It's HIGH if you're actually making any big order with lots of stuff.

Since I basically only buy SNSD albums when a new one is released, their shipping fees are perfect for me.

I stopped buying cds because after finding a job and working hard to earn the money, I realized a cd isn't worth it, especially since it costs me like 40$ for one cd.

qurl, i'm the total opposite of u. i got a job so i could BUY k-pop cd's.

But I've always bought via ebay, the cheapest and fastest.

!!!  How is it costing $40, do you mean USD?  Is that like for full albums?  (I haven't bought one of those yet, but they still don't seem that expensive.)  Or did things used to cost more?

i buy mine on kpoptown

I only buy CDs (without posters) and no other goods, and I'm usually using kpoptown for that.

Since there were multiple answers for kpoptown I thought maybe that was a major one that I'd missed, could you go back and change your answers if you'd already answered the poll?

Kpop town

You too!

Album costs like 24$ USD, shipping is around 5$ USD and the fee I must pay when the item arrives is around 10$, sometimes even bigger when I ordered 2 cds and other stuff with it.

What is this mysterious fee. o.o  Are you not in the USA?  Do they have import fees where you are or something?

I live in Europe, Iceland.

They don´t have it in US and in other countries? Yes, you have to pay import fees always. You must provide the custom duties office with the ebay item number or a bill from wherever you got the item, so they can check how much is the import fee. The only exception is when you receive a gift from someone, you don't have to pay then.

I haven't had to pay import fees for yesasia/kpopmart... I'd never paid import fees on jrock albums when I used to buy those, either, or any international ebay purchases.  I dunno about other countries (I'm not even sure about the USA, actually. >.>;;  Actually, I think it's if the declared value of the goods is below some amount, you don't get charged import fees or whatever on them.)

Technically, you "need" to pay VAT in your country (and usually an administrative fee with that) in basically EVERY country when you import a CD like this.

It's just that customs usually are quite lax. I've never had to do it for a kpop album, I had to do it once for a jpop DVD.
