On August 2013, EXO signed a contract to endorse Nature Republic for 2 years. Last year the company broke through the Chinese cosmetic market by opening stores in China. Luhan and Wu Yifan were good visuals for the Chinese market, but they've left SM. Luhan just started endorsing KanS, and SM filled a lawsuit against KanS bc of the use of a Luhan's photo from the time he was in EXO. However the real problem is not Luhan's photo, it's the fact that Luhan is endorsing the cosmetic company KanS... ... while Nature Republic is still using Kris and Luhan's image in their vcr/campaigns/products. They're suing because the company used one of his photos from EXO on a pillow for a free giveaway. There is something odd about the way he looks in this picture, but I can't pinpoint what it is. If it was because of Nature Republic, then SM would've gone after Kris too for Lancome. and didn't the Shanghai court state that it was a copyright suit? Maybe they have those a couple of years to use the images of the boys and it seems like post-Exo!LudaKris are treated as different brands fro Exo!LudaKris owned and copyrighted by SM. maybe. It's just interesting because Kolon Sports no longer use Krishan but some endorsers still do. I guess it's up to the advertisers themselves. In my opinion. Nature Republic has paid SM for EXO's faces to endorse its campaign, so the one who has to go against KanS is SM, bc EXO is SM's responsability and their images belongs to SM. SM has said they wanted to stop Luhan's and Kris' activities in China, and something about EXO being harm, i think it's bc of the endorsements Luhan/Kris are having; imagine EXO endorses a company and Kris/Luhan endorses an opponent company in the same business line. Nat. Republic is still using their faces bc there are only mediations going on btw Kris/Luhan and SM, so it's like Kris and Luhan are members on hiatus, but the time the lawsuit goes to court, things will change. They signed with Nature Republic for 2 years i believe which started in 2013 hence it's ending soon which a high chance it will not be renewed according to my friend when she was in Korea, that was what the sales girl told her. The lip balm packs were sold right before Kris left hence Kris was still included but the second batch they did no longer had him. Which can also be seen in the soap package they did. However, recently during Christmas NR was selling another batch of hand cream sets which had ALL 12 of them in each M or K sets.
