So I want to start watching running man, because everyone is so into it and it feels like im not a real kpop fan if i dont watch the show

+ i think it might really be a great variety show, SOOOO

 

can someone tell me the best way to start watching the show? i mean i dont want to begin from the beginning and watch every episode of one hour, but rather i want to watch the important or really good ones. 

 

Any help is appreciated <3<3<3

10. Episode 63: Couple Race
Concept:

Each member was to paired with an SNSD member. They battle it out to become the episode’s best couple.
Episode Milestone:

The men met their match. Many of the female guests of Running Men ended up being eye candies. They were nice to look at but never really contributed much to the comedy or to the games. This is the first time the girls actively participated in the comedy, the games and stood up against the humor and with of the men in the show.

The standard in couple race. There have been many couple races in the past but this episode certainly set the standards in terms of comedy, competitiveness and unpredictability.

Winner: Yuri and Lee Kwang Soo / Yoona and Yoo Jae Suk
9. Episode 8
Episode Milestone:

Commander and 2 kids were solidified. As in all variety shows, characters and roles are developed. One of the most memorable clique to have ever been formed in Korean variety is the commander and the 2 kids. This is the episode were they were solidified.

Funniest Leisurely tea. Many would remember this segment for Kang Gary’s surprising romantic remark about Song Ji Hyo. It was when the idea of a loveline between the two were born but there is something bigger than that. This is the funniest leisurely tea segment they have ever come up with. The cast proved they can sustain more than 15 minutes of nothingness simply because they are all great comedians.

Some heart was shown. This is the episode were old videos of the cast were shown and the production team chose videos that showed the “hardships†that the members went through to get to where they are. It provided the audience some emotional hook.

The winners were chosen through a lottery in the first year of Running Man.
8. Episode 98 : Zombie Episode
Concept

The members were put in a building and were told that a zombie was on the loose and they have been locked down until the zombie dies.
Episode Milestones

Use of flashback. Instead of the usual linear episode where the audience learns of the events on a chronological order, this is the first episode where the PDs used flashbacks. The PDs revealed outcomes first before showing the events the lead to specific important moments. One great example is when Song Ji Hyo ended up helping Kang Gary rip off Kim Jong Kook’s nametag. It was later on revealed that Kang Gary got Song Ji Hyo to his side. It made certain events more surprising and more unexpected.

Horror theme. This is the first horror episode of the show and a successful one at that. A competing show, Infinity Challenge, created a vampire episode several months after and it fell short of expectations. It clearly showed how hard it is to pull off a horror episode the way Running Man did.

Plotted out like a movie. This is the first episode where there was a narrative. The game progression as it was revealed to the audience was revealed through a non-linear fashion. It felt like you are watching a movie.

Winner : Kang Gary


7. Episode 104: RM vs Idols 1
Concept

The Running man competed against 7 Idols.
Episode Milestone

Looks vs Comedy. It’s not the first time the whole RM cast competed as a team but this is the first time the concept of looks vs comedy was blatantly flagged in the show.

As a whole team. Their battle against Big Bang was the first time they competed as a team against a group. However, Since big bang only 5 members, Running Man was given a handicap, effectively clipping two members. This episode is the first time the whole team as pitied against a group of guests with equal number of members.

Winners: Ham Eun Jung [T-ara], Nichkhun [2PM], Jung Yong Hwa [CN Blue], Lee Joon [MBLAQ], Eunhyuk [super Junior], Yoon Doo Joon [bEAST], Siwan [ZE:A], Jung Jae Hyung
6. Episode 127: Snake Race
Concept:
Episode Milestone:

Probably the best name tag tearing battle I have ever seen. The best one on one nametag tearing battle may go to Kim Jong Kook and Chu Soong Hoon in episode131 (also the highest rated episode of all time) but in terms of general nametag tearing chaos, I think this episode takes the cake. There were so many confrontations when all the members were present in one location and were just going at it.

Kimg Jong Kook’s match. There have been many guests that have proven they can take Kim Jong Kook on a one-on-one nametag tearing battle. There’s Chu Soong Hoon and Kim So Roo. However, physical strength is not the only forte of Kim Jong Kook. He is also an extremely smart player and it’s finding someone who has both that’s really hard but not impossible. This is the episode that may have finally proven that Kim Jong Kook has long met his match in the person Jung Yong Hwa. Jung Yong Hwa has appeared in Running Man many times and has proven he can run and think. But his appearance in the HongKong episode and the Snake Race proved he also has the physical strength to go with it.

Winner: Kang Gary, Song Ji Hyo, Jung Yong Hwa [CN Blue], Lee Jong Hyun [CN Blue], Lee Gi Kwang [beast], Simon Dominic [supreme Team], Choi Ji Woo)
5. Episode 69 : Grasshopper Hunting
Concept:

Running Man faces an old nemesis, Choi Min Soo.
Episode Milestone:

Yoo Jae Suk vs Choi Min Soo. Running Man has several continuing “narrativesâ€. They have the Best of the Best series, Idols vs RM and Yoomes Bond. However, it’s the Choi Min Soo series that could be the greatest of all. Only Choi Min Soo can make the whole RM tremble in fear and it’s all because of Yoo Jae Suk. Their second confrontation is the best display of their match up. Choi Min Soo proved just how creative he can get in making RM look like a fool without losing the spirit of the show.

Live special effects. This is probably the first time the show used live special effects. The production team helped Choi Min Soo set up the whole venue to make it feel like a giant play house complete with lighting effects and other props.

Sustaining Storylines. Choi Min Soo is the first guest of RM that has a sustaining storyline with Running Man. This episode is his second return (third appearance) but this is this is his return that marked and confirmed that RM can and will bring back past stories and they’ll rock it out.

Winner: Choi Min Soo
4. Episode 119 : Superpower Baseball
Concept

RM is divided into two teams. After a series of mini games, they battle it out in a game of baseball with a twist.
Episode Milestone

A bit of everything. When Running Man was recommended to me, I was first asked to watch the Big Bang episode. I didn’t like it. I watched this one next and I was totally hooked. I had no biases and certainly didn’t know the characters well enough to look forward to anything. However, the whole show had so many twists and the cast were so funny that I literally didn’t stop laughing from beginning to end.

Taking classic games and putting twists. Baseball is an old game and an international one at that. This episode showed just how brilliant the production team is in taking even the most classic of games and put their touch to make it their own.

Winners: Ryu Hyun Jin (Guest), Jin Se Yeon (Guest), Kim Jong Kook, HaHa, Kang Gary
3. Episode 125 : 2012 Christmas
Concept

Divided into several teams, the team battled it out in the mini-games leading to the final game.
Episode Milestone

Downright funny. Members of Running Man always cry out for Idol female guests but it is actually when they get guests with whom they can mess with that they are able to create the craziest and funniest moments. This episode featured guests that have been long-time friends of the casts and are also comedians. It allowed everyone to relax and just have fun and not think too much of the competition until the end.

Strategizing and manipulating at its finest. The PDs set up games that literally inspired members to put their best game forward. They had to be at their best manipulative selves. They had to strategize to save themselves and save their teams.

Winners: Yoo Jae Suk, Kang Gary, Song Ji Hyo, Jeong Hyung Don (Guest)
2. Episode 42 : Battle of the Best 1
Concept

Tear of other mem bers’ nametag. The last man standing wins.
Episode Milestone

The first time the members were individually pitied against each other in one entire game. This is not the first time the show didn’t employ a guest but this is the first time the production team clearly pitied the members against each other to declare the first ever individual winner of an episode.

A long-standing strategy is born. Kim Jong Kook has always been the strongest and he has never shied away from it. He has been a constant target of other members but because this is the first time there is an individual competition, this is when the strategy of ganging up against Kim Jong Kook before taking out each other was born and solidified.

Potentials were fulfilled and born. From the first episode, you can clearly see the strengths, weaknesses and potentials of each member. In this episode, those impressions were confirmed. SJH and YJS are the cerebral ones, KJK is the strongest one and Haha and KG will most likely stick together. Potentials were also revealed, KG can pull out surprises, Haha can remain faithful to his alliances, YJS is not just smart but a great strategist.

Winner: Kang Gary
1. First Superpower Episode (Battle of the Best 2)
Concept

Each member were given superpowers – the man who controls time, the man who controls space, the man who has 6th sense, the death note, the man who can multiply, the man with 3 lives and the seer.
Episode Milestone

This is the first episode where they used a superpower concept and after almost 100 episodes, the cast members, guests, fans, media, and production team continue to refer to the events and characters in this episode.

This episode is the turning point of the show, from being a challenge-based variety program to something unique and great. They are the first variety program to execute a superpower on play and intricately infuse the superpowers in with the characters and events.

This is also the first time you can clearly see the “style†of each member and how they are evolving in the way they play the game. Some strategized better than the others, others manipulated, a few chose to attack and the others waited.

Winner: Kang Gary

 

 

Most of those episode is funny and killing XD

Its actually better to watch them from the beginning...so you understand jokes that are made....or anniversary episode like Yoomes Bond's Water Gun ect...

but doesnt that take toooo much time, like there are 29838729 eps and each one of them is 1 hour

Yeah it does take along time lol......but you don't have to watch them all in a day or a week.....

But if you don't want to watch them all....just watch the ones with your fav Idols or Actors ect.....

well i think im gonna watch one with snsd or something and later on if i really like the show i might consider watching everything =)
