Miyami 642
Haven't seen this topic yet, and since there are many different kinds of soju, might be interesting to see what you tasted and what your experiences are with soju. Last few weeks i've been trying some different soju kinds since they are quite difficult to buy in my area. So far I tried the regular Chamisul and the classic variant. It was pretty good, especially the classic. It's just that my friends are kinda akward with drinks they don't know about lol... But also I opened this thread because I have a little question, Yesterday I found a bottle of distilled andong soju, but it has an expiry date from early last year (march 2014 I believe). Will the flavour still be good to drink it? I mean, with all the alcohol (40%) it's no doubt still ok to drink it, but would the taste be still ok? I'm kinda worried about that tbh. Also you could share your crazy soju nights here, that is, if you still remember.. my first time certainly caught me offguard since I thought it wasn't that strong... but no crazy stories from me yet, I have quite a high alcohol acceptance level ^^
í—! 8,234
The only thing I drink is basically Soju.... sometimes mixed with Maekju (Beer - such as OB). (Unless of course if I go to a club and they don't serve Soju, but yeah, everytime I go to a restaurant or outing with friends.. it's probably almost always Soju). Should probably stop though.. belly is getting big TT --- Edit* A crazy night? I'm considered a ''heavy drinker'' at least according to my friends. One night I was at a restaurant with my two bestfriends and we just sat in and drank pretty much all night. I ended up getting drunk and was sloppy and tripping all over the place.. (This was in the restaurant, lol). Eventually my friends took me out for a walk because I wasn't co-operating with the restaurant, and I ended up vomiting in the street (which... I never do). But my friends had just come back from Korea and we went out to celebrate and got a little carried away. Also apparently while we were on the train home, a middle aged lady hit on me and even kissed my ears and cheeks (at least according to my friend). He just sat there and watch her do...things to me as he doesn't have a good grasp on English and felt uncomfortable. TT___TT
omejkle 11,748
Well, Soju just isn't very common where i live at all. I've only had it once. It was called Charm Soju. Is it considered a good or acceptable soju? or is it like the Coors light of soju??? XD The only night i was drunk on soju i figured out how to play a piano song by ear... so there's that XD Not really a crazy night.
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
I found Soju to be too damn dry for my mouth...like it took all the saliva out of it. Only way I found to down it is if I mix it with other things (beer, or juice, etc). But I'm not much of a drinker, so I've never gotten drunk since I usually share a drink with someone (and that's still maybe once or twice a year)... I much prefer their Bokbunja ju (Black Raspberry Wine). It's delicious, savory, not dry...Ah...
Mccuish 1,935
The only time I've had soju was when I ate at this Korean restaurant.
