adda 9,200 Posted January 31, 2015 Share Posted January 31, 2015 knetizens are always pressed about enlistment ("why so late?", "better do well" , "make sure you serve properly" etc.) but I never saw them voice their opinion against the mandatory military system, expanding their meaning of patriotism. You can very well serve your country without joining the military. I kinda feel sorry for Korean men. They have to take a break for two years (for nothing!) and then return to their daily life trying to recover those lost years. 6 months is more than enough.
