Why are we pulled towards negative energies

Hello :)

its been a long while since i made a thread bt theres something that i was curious over that i wanted to see what ur thoughts may be on this:

Why are we more inclined/pulled more towards negative topics? topics that involve scary things? topics that involve violence? basically anything involved with negativity etc

e.g. news, most/a lot of music these days, documentaries, fan fights etc

positive attracting negative? balance? being programmed/conditioned into watching/reading negatively energetic things? feeding off that energy (metaphorically speaking)?

I wish and hope for there to be more positivity in the world!

I know this is not the point of your thread but as far as I know people are drawn to negative things because they cause a bigger emotional response and therefore engage us more. That's why most things on the news are negative. It's not that good things don't happen as much as bad things, it's just that very few people would watch a happy news broadcast every day.

Because of people like Regina, Slaying Seohyun, Rome, Skipper, Oprah, et al. They are the progenitors of negative energies, darkness, here in OH. Sometimes I wish they would be put in a place like the movie Purge.

Morbid curiosity. Society has a sick obsession with tragedy, that explains why homicide cases are sensationalised and become media circuses..

We're human! and I love gore

This tbh... I don't quite understand my obsession with it, there is some thing about gore that intrigues me.

Those 'negative' things interest me. I like to see others' opinions on those controversial/negative topics because usually those opinions are emotionally charged and people are rather defensive about them, so it may turn out to be an interesting argument. I get to see the situation/topic with another person's POV because my own viewpoint is clouded with my own emotions and personal experience. Sorry if this makes no sense at all, I was kind of rambling lol

indeed good things do happen to us bt its been such a long time since i heard something good happening to people (on a bigger scale if u know what i mean).

one more question if u dont mind answering (u dont have to if u dont want to)

why would someone want to be even more emotionally challenged on top of what is happening in their every day life? isnt it just tiring

do you think there's a way for the society to decrease the not only sick bt disgusting obsession with tragedy?

That's the thing though, we don't hear about those things. It doesn't mean they're not out there, you just have to find the places that talk about it.

You say "emotionally challenged" but in reality it's much easier (and less challenging) for the brain to react to things that are sensational. They stimulate the brain much more easily than things that are not, so while it might be tiring emotionally eventually, physically it's actually easier. but as I said, this is what I know (or basically what a friend of mine, who's a psychologist, explained to me when I asked the same question). i might be wrong or twisting her words.

i wish there was a channel called happy TV or uplifliting TV :) (empowerment tv, positive tv etc u name it)

sensational positive news or positive tv shows can stimulate the brain to react easier too, this positivity is so scarce these days on tv that all that negativity that gets transferred then begins to pent up and store that its starts to reflect on people too (i have a few theories on this as well) bt thank you for your input<3
