Property of Goddess Irene 9,760
Nate Pann: Feel pity for Irene (debuting at a late age) She ended up getting a late debut, lol. I'm a Red Velvet fan, but really I am appalled...Honestly, who has been in sm for that long without doing much. Consider that there's no few number of rookie idols at her age. At most, male idols debut around 21 or 22 years of age, do you know anyone else like that? Those idol articles mention that Irene just stays motionless, wouldn't that be an attribute of her incompetence..Irene really is pitiful. Comments: 1. She started as a trainee at a late age, hehehehehe. Others became trainees in their early teens, while she became one in her senior year of high school, then she had to travel to Seoul to officially begin! [+136][-18] 2. That's right. Besides that, there's malicious comments about her weak singing, which made her seem worse than she actually is, oh Irene! *nervous* [+105][-13] 3. Does she not have an old face?? Does she have creases at the side of her lips? Because if she does, wouldn't that be the case? [+73][-16] 4. It doesn't matter how incompetent they are, at least as long as sm is a very large company. It served no use cultivating Irene because now after her debut she displays no type of talent as a matter of fact; sm's competitive advantage is outstanding because their kids who recently debuted will receive standing ovations easily unlike any other kids out there. [+55][-7] 5. Irene is truly pathetic. She was a late age trainee compared to her other peers and then debuting later than them, that's why she is insulted for her lack of talents and for coming from an agency that does have the ability to find talent in people who has been with them for 5 years. Wouldn't they have taken her out by the second year? Depending on how much talent you initially see, you can tell if they will have a bright future and if instructing them will be for a purpose. Up to now, they have nothing else to show except 2 digital singles, all while several solo artists have been debuting. Your image should not be more than a third of how you are valued, as if having skills is nothing to consider. [+38][-3] ----------- Even though there's criticisms about Irene's talent it won't matter. I think Yoona was a trainee for 7 years in SM and her career turned out fine, the only 'negative' aspect is that she debuted at age older than the typical idol debuts, which Koreans might interpret as Irene having to be put to a higher standard of quality compare to younger members. KinkySanta 1,073
What is she like 21? That's not old that means she's old enough to drink. Instead of turning up all fucking day like me she goes and gets a career. More power to her it's currently 6pm and what is she doing? Probably working her booty off in Red Velvet. I say, who cares about her age. She's kicking ass in a group that will soon be on the level as other top idols because it's from SM. Go Irene. I don't care how old you are! It's the same age as Boram when T-ara debuted. Bom was 25, Dara and Sojin 24. They're all still active, meanwhile Sunye who debuted at the age of 16 hasn't been active in years and already has a child.

MySeaYeon 3,004
i don't care for age tbh as long as they look young ....T-ara's oldest members look younger than most snsd members
SleepingDragon 1,099
It's better to debut at a later age in a big company like SM instead of early age at some nugu company. Irene has no talent? Guess knetizens only judge talent as singing ability. If that's the case Yoona has no talent too, look at where she's at now.

PikaPikachu 5,572
They can't find a legitimate reason to hate on her that's why they concentrate so hard on her age. Talent wise she's an average singer and dancer. Why do people exaggerate so much and try to make out that she's completely talent-less?? She's a lot better that many idols who have debuted years before her. Just because she's the weakest in Red Velvet it doesn't mean she's bad. Its like how people kept saying that Joy wasn't that talented and her visuals weren't good yet when she had the collab with other maknaes that had debuted long before she did, she shined the brightest. Irene honestly isn't that bad. Its just that compared to say Seulgi's dancing and Wendy's vocals she isn't as good. But compare her to other idols in general she's average at singing and dancing with outstanding looks.

Property of Goddess Irene 9,760
Thy can't find a legitimate reason to hate on her that's why they concentrate so hard on her age. Talent wise she's an average singer and dancer. Why do people exaggerate so much and try to make out that she's completely talentless?? That's the Korean mindset. If you are the oldest they expect you to be superior in some ways, also add the fact that she has been training in SM for many years. Both things make it sound like she would be a really talented idol but Wendy, Seulgi and Joy outshine her on that, while being younger.
