Hi everyone!

Im new Yoonmin shipper here. I dont know why I wasnt one sooner considered both are my top bias. I didnt know why they were such a popular ship when I first got into BTS, but I really love their relationship dynamic now.

and I do feel you on many points tbh. when I first got into bts, during rookie king airing, I had no idea about their ships but I got this feeling people may be shipping jihope, from their interactions during the episode, which were the most obvious / blatant to me. I was definitely surprised when I found out people are all over yoonmin / taekook instead. then, some months later, I rewatched the episodes, this time a yoonmin shipper myself, mostly because of cute gifs and fanfiction. and I realized yoonmin is always there - just not that obvious. maybe it's yoongi's hand casually resting on jimin's shoulder, maybe it's jimin cheering loudly for his favourite hyung, maybe it's the way yoongi instinctively pulls jimin close and allows him to rest his head on his shoulder - there are so many small moments that are both times super adorable and really endearing. yoonmin is not about big gestures but mainly the point yoongi has the hugest soft spot for jimin, like he allows him to do things no one, not even jungkook, is allowed to, and jimin has an imense amount of respect and admiration for yoongi. extra points for yoongi acting like jimin annoys him the most and the next second, without a doubt "jimin is my favourite dongsaeng". 

 

ever since debut times, yoonmin has low key been going really strong - whenever asked, yoongi points out jimin as his favourite dongsaeng, and jimin is yoongi's biggest fan without a doubt. remember when jimin claimed the nevermind intro is his favourite song of their latest album, because it's yoongi's song? remember when yoongi said he's going to make a song just for jimin, because he likes jimin the best? also, remember when jimin had to kiss a member as a dare, and everyone immediately started shouting "yoongi yoongi"? then, jimin cheering for yoongi during basketball at isacs, yoongi encouraging jimin during the latest isacs, also, all the time yoonmin spent time together during their bangtan episodes and whatnots because of no apparent reason - just think about the run episode in the amusement park in the states, where yoonmin were riding all the rides together. jimin helping yoongi preparing his gifts, yoongi giving jimin his code for his bank card just so he can buy snacks, yoonmin preparing all them cakes and and and. I could go on for hours actually ;) 

 

just saying that yes, yoonmin is definitely not the most obvious / striking ship, but their moments are constant and plenty and ever so secretive or often times them doing things just on instinct, that makes it extra cute. they're not 24/7 in your face, and I guess that's what makes the ship so adorable

wow!!! now that i read your paragraph, i actually can remember all those moments, but it didnt register to me the way it register to you. i agree yoonmin is so much more lowkey than all the other ships, but it's also the sweetest. thanks for point them out, now i feel like going to rewatch all bangtan clips just to see yoonmin. 

 

it still make my heart melt that jimin is yoongi's favorite dongsaeng, like he make it so obvious. he love all the other members too, but its so endearing how he have the softest spot for jimin and the gentle gaze he look jimin. urghh my yoonmin feel~
