I have noticed recently on korean tv shows, they're using a lot of old school kpop songs as the bg songs. Definitely more than they use to before 'totoga'. I mean in the end.... I don't mind because I enjoy 90s kpop music so I get to see them perform and they get to relive their glory days and get paid for it. Win - win all around.
