Is k-pop a part of who you are?

So a few months ago I posted a topic about me losing interest in k-pop. It's associated with my past, my childhood and early-mid teens and I'm trying to move away from that. I'm so glad I finally explored all sorts out of music and yes, I do still listen to k-pop sometimes. But it's different from before - instead of forcing myself to listen to every single release from famous artists, I listen to artists I genuinely like, a lot of indie stuff and etc.

But after stopping listening to k-pop so exclusively, I felt like I lost a part of myself and a big one. It was my identity. K-pop, k-drama, the fandoms and tumblr, it was all. I don't know how to explain it.. It was all of my interests for such a long time that when I distanced myself from it, I felt a bit empty. Also, my appearance is also associated with it (been wearing circle lenses for 4 years every day, my hairstyle, clothing, EVERYTHING) so... I don't even know what I'm trying to say. Been trying to figure out who I really am, still... trying...

So, as the title says - Is k-pop a part of who you are? How would you feel if one day, it was to disappear completely?

I think for many people it would be really hard to live without because kpop has taken so much of your time and it has basically become a hobby that is time-consuming.

But for me, I was never really that invested. I browse the forum at times and I look out for some music but I dont really stan any groups and i usually dont listen to it much.

I think I will keep up for kpop for no more than 5 years then I will sign out tbh

Hmm well k-pop has taught me a lot of new things. I wear circle lenses, I have better make up techniques and I know a lot more thanks to k-pop. Right now it feels like I have lost interest in it, but when my fave group makes a comeback I think my interest will come back. I never want to leave the fandom though. I hope I can make it past 5 years.
