Let's wait and see at the GDA". And then when EXO wins at GDA people say it also doesn't mean anything... I wonder if it would still mean nothing if it were your favs winning it It is a fact that sales make up to 70% of GDA, so of course companies that invest on creating a loyal fandom that will buy their artists' products (like SM does) have significantly more chances of winning (basically because a group with bad sales won't stand a chance): Also, there's 20% voting, so one could say the GDA is strongly fandom based (although EXO actually placed 3rd in public voting. First was Taemin and 2nd was ToHeart). There's still 10% of the grade that comes from judges. In MAMAs, it was up to 30%. There were other groups from SM running, so either their fandoms are not organized (which doesn't seem likely, since Super Junior won the Internet Voting for the MAMAs) or some judges voted for EXO. I wonder how many people who criticize EXO actually took the trouble of listening to their mini-album... There are some excellent songs. Yes, of course I am biased, but at least listen to the album before saying they didn't deserve it one bit or any bs like that... One part of SM being able to build strong fandoms is the quality of their material. They do spend some money into getting good songs, good designs and good choreographers. Also, EXO is one of the best boygroups in digital sales as well... But anyway, it does make me wonder what SM does so well that other companies don't to have such high sales. There are people that buy more than one album for the photocards, but I don't think everybody does that. Also, there are other groups that also offer photocards for albums and still don't achieve these numbers. Why wouldn't you be interested in buying your favorite artist's album?
