JoJo29 17,806
Pann: [Exclusive] B1A4, a controversy of 'sexual harassment' in Malaysia Malay Mail reported that "K-pop stars have sexually harassed a girl during a concert" and included a screencap of B1A4's mini concert held in Malaysia on the 11th.According to the reports, B1A4 held an event with a few selected fans, and there was a fanservice which the members kissed a fan on the forehead. But some people in Malaysia are claiming that B1A4 sexually harassed the girl and are also criticizing her.=- What? Are they being jealous?- ...??? So it's because the members kissed her on the forehead?- I heard that her father complained because of religious reasons- Why is it sexual harassment when the girl liked it?- Then kiss me instead- Is it cultural differences? ã… ã… But it was done because the fan wanted it. Why are they calling it sexual harassment...- ????? What in the world...?????- I guess it's because the country is very conservative... Now idols can't even do fanservice- The fan agreed it beforehand and she even apologized to her father. Innocent B1A4 is getting bashed for no reason... ''' 650
well.. maybe they shouldn't have even asked. Cuz what's she gonna say? "No" in front of everyone? Probably would be embarrassing for both sides. kind of put her on the spot... Also I've never seen/heard of this kind of fanservice before? LeeTaeyong 4,086
I hate how they were calling it molestation. If it's such a problem, don't let the girls on the stage in the first place.
nylynn 849
Malaysian media reported "Internet users claim Kpop stars molested Malay girls on stage during concert" not "Kpop stars molested girl on stage" The article: KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11— A mini-concert featuring a South Korean pop band here yesterday has hit controversy after a three-minute video of the artistes hugging and embracing three tudung-clad Malay fans on stage went viral online. Angry netizens took to Facebook in sharing and commenting on the video clip of the concert, featuring K-pop band B1A4 that was held at KL Live event. K-pop, as the particular musical genre is called, is highly popular with Malaysians including Malay youths. The 3.21 minute-long video, uploaded on the Sukan Star TV Facebook page and suggestively titled “Perempuan melayu dicabul atas pentas oleh mat kpop semalam†(Malay girls molested on stage by K-Pop artists last night) has since been shared over 19,000 times and attracted over 13,000 comments from viewers. In the video, three K-pop stars from the group were seen interacting with three Malay fans on stage, with one of the artists hugging a fan from the back. Despite the clip’s title, however, the fan was smiling and laughing when she later hugged the artist back after turning to face him. Another portion from the same video showed another band member kissing a tudung-clad fan’s forehead, and eventually hugging her while being cheered on by the audience as well as the emcee from the event. Although seemingly nervous and hesitant at times, the three female fans on stage appeared willing to hug and greet the K-pop stars. Despite the innocent appearance, however, Facebook users were critical of the behaviour. “Allah… it looks this is the end of (us) followers… such ignorance. May Allah protect us from the evils of this world,†said one Facebook user named Mohd Akmal Vahidi. Another user, Laksamana Sunan Gadis, claimed the video showed how Malay girls acted “cheap†with foreigners but set high expectations or men with the same ethnicity. “Korean men get to kiss for free… Malay men have to fork out RM15,000-RM20,000 to propose (to a Malay girl). This is haram jadah (nonsense),†said another user Shah Mikail. B1A4 debuted in 2011 and four studio albums under their belt. The event yesterday was part of a meet-the-fans session for the group. - See more at: http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/internet-users-claim-k-pop-stars-molested-malay-girls-on-stage-during-conce#sthash.s0QlaJud.dpuf I wouldn't take the comments of the netizens seriously. Anti-kpop fans in Malaysia are quite vocal. They will say anything to stop kpop artists from coming into Malaysia but they're a minority group. The comments sound like they come from butthurt men who can't get dates.
xiashenghan 155
Poor B1A4. They might have been shocked with this news. It's not their fault. - Then kiss me instead I'll gladly accept that kiss. I wouldn't take the comments of the netizens seriously. Anti-kpop fans in Malaysia are quite vocal but they're a minority group. The comments sound like they come from butthurt men who can't get dates. That's what I thought too when I read the comments they posted. They're like those bitter men. Well they will be bitter if they need to pay just to kiss a girl. LittlePinky82 1,303
Tsk sad situation. The guys just doing their regular fan service more than likely and the girl just wanted to have fun at a pop show. Getting ridiculous with misusing the word. How about real victims? Do they get this much press? Maybe idols management should look into cultural things like this for all parties involved. Now the poor kid has to deal with dad and be put in that situation. I hope she's okay.
Evee 1,668
I agree that they should look more into the culture & customs of a country when they go there, but neither B1A4 nor the girls did anything wrong. Obviously the girls were enjoying themselves and got to be close to their faves, B1A4 was just doing fan service - yes indeed the world is coming to an end because of teenage girls and pop bands
