Nate Pann: Serious reasons why Red Velvet is not able to succeed

The reasons why Red Velvet is not succeeding..

1) Happiness was their first song and it had a very refreshing concept. However, they suddenly changed with Be Natural, an old song and a remake, which ended up failing.

2)  The number of members and the member configuration appears to be a mistake..Nowadays, the appropriate number of members in a girl groups is on average seven. The age of the oldest girl, Irene, is too high to start as a professional performing artist. Unable develop properly, she exhibits poor talent.

3) SM always tries to get the names of their singers recognized by backing them with the name of their company right after debut. Otherwise people tend to ignore them because of prejudice against rookie singers. It's taking them longer to achieve name recognition.

4) The way things are today is that of a downtrend, rookie girl groups are being rejected and in turn it hurts their prospects.

5) Red Velvet was supposed to continue with activities at the start of the year in 2015, instead so-so second string solo singers are coming out.

6) Rather than continuing their current pace in entertainment, the solution is to have the members get into dramas and start acting, or pursuing other means of increasing awareness of them. They must do this if they want to survive in the long run.

7) They should come back with a really good song, it is necessary that they maintain the same type of concepts for the time being.

Comments:

1. The girls came out last August but they are screwed, hehehehe. They won't like playing catch up to EXO's success, who debuted over a year ago with their messed up voices.

2. How long has it been since their debut, lol.

[+218][-21]

3. Ah, they should have persisted with big plans early on instead of waiting until now doing solo activities, this adversely affected the team.

[+198][-24]

4. The girls will be fine, I'm not worried even if interest in them has disappeared.

5. Doesn't it seem like Lovelyz is better somehow because there's more girls

 [+66][-7]

6. So now EXO is so cool when back in their MAMA days the comments were completely different, hehehehehe. Look at them now, lol. Red Velvet should also come out with an proper album very soon for this comeback, lol. Among the rookie girls that debuted last year, is there any that you remember well besides Red Velvet..??

7. I kept thinking why they released Be Natural after first seeing Happiness, with its refreshing concept that captured the attention of the public. Releasing a song that was upbeat and then following up with a song that wasn't brought a halt to the momentum of Red Velvet that created by their previous image. If they continued on with something refreshing and lively there wouldn't be any problem now. Its hard for the public to accept something entirely new after they got used to the previous concept. What should have been done was keep using the same popular concept and gradually change it over time so that the public can maintain interest. Their agency must have thought that giving them a new appearence with Be Natural would have gained them a lot of popularity eventually, but that wasn't the case. At least they gave it a try. Red Velvet Fighting!!

They debuted last august.  :imstupid:

And look at EXO. Look at most SM groups. People aren't all for them when they debut but they all hit it big at some point.

I will agree with the member count thing though. Anyways, I'm sure they'll do well.

er, happiness had an abysmal concept and the song was "red light" levels of inconsistent.

i'm p. sure this person pulled this number out of their ass

red velvet's problem is that they're a girl group, which already puts them at a disadvantage, and they're boring. don't get me wrong, i like them, but so far SM has done nothing meaningful to differentiate them from the competition.

their number's fine

I like them because its just 4 actually. Getting real tired of overly large groups.

And Red Velvet should've followed happiness up with another original song and an album. Instead they released the exact copy of some outdated song and have been performing those for the last few months. Why is it taking so long for sm to release an album.
