But who succeeded breaking out of Nugu Status last year? I mean we have obvious groups like EXID and Girl's Day and AOA. But who else was able to overcome nugu status? BTS is kinda hard to answer, and it is based on what do you consider nugu. On one hand they are not strong enough digitally. On the other hand they ended up being able to sell a lot phisically. Skool Luv Affair sold around 83k, Dark&Wild sold 98k. (Comparission BlockB's H.E.R sold 85k and Vixx's Error sold 84k) In comparision their albums in 2013: 2cool4skool 36k, and O!RUL8,2? sold 49k. They actually doubled their phisycal sales in 2014.. They also had a succesfull solo concert series, which was also sold out, they even had to include new dates because of the demand. And you know that is where artist earn the most, from concerts. But I would still consider them nugus because of the weak digital, but they are moving up. Anyway as long as they continue to produce good music, and they can make a living from what they do, I don't care even if they remain nugus. They're on the verge of moving up, though. i can see ur argument about exid, but how in the world is aoa still nugu with 3 hits? actually even just 1 hit should break u out of nugu status. "nugu" means "who", as in will koreans know who that singer is. any singer that charts first on melon for a while is no longer nugu. bts, with their glorious int'l popularity and album sales, i think id still have to call them nugu until they reach a digital hit. 2014 would definitely be the year for block b, with the digital success of "her" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Nugu wouldnt able to sell their singles like hotcakes.. aoa's latest three singles are digital hits and reached high views on youtube. How could they be nugu?
