Will EXO ever be accepted by current KPop fans?

Will they have to wait til like 2020 for everyone to love them since most of us will be over KPop by then and the newer fans will see them as icons because of how long they've been around?

I don't think Super Junior, Girls Generation were ever accepted by kpop fans, and look at them, never stopped their success. If you pay attention no group(except maybe ones like BEG etc) are accepted by ALL kpop fans.

Current K-pop fans accept them, what they don't accept is a lot of the craziness coming from some of the fandom.

Pretty sure EXO as a group is already accepted by Kpop fans. Most of the hate is directed towards their fandom.

It's not like everyone hates them, believe me..

Most of the blogs I followed on tumblr that used to be multi-fandom or Big Bang, SHINee, Infinite etc. blogs changed their blogs completely to fit EXO when they debuted.

I don't think acceptance from all kpop fans is really all that important for them since they have a very dedicated and creppy fan base already.

That's what I was thinking. Since Exo has a huge international following I assumed that current kpop fans were accepting of them already... I'm confused now.

Yes. The K-Pop boom is slowly dying and EXO is very much apart of the K-Pop boom, they're no Shinhwa. They never created anything or lead the Hallyu movement; they just followed and rode on it. When you ride on the bandwagon, you'll fall off. When Britney debuted with BOMT, Mandy, Jessica and Christina followed her, look what's happened to them. Same thing applies to K-Pop. In a wider picture, SM and K-Pop don't need them.  And with all the hate they've gotten since debut, EXO is unlikely to ever win public support so they'll just become a less important Super Junior.

 

But as people have pointed out, they don't need to be accepted by K-Pop fans since their insane fan base is already large enough to sustain them but not further their career in any way. It doesn't help when none of your members don't stand out either.
