I find that I tend to like the ones that do great at variety, so the "relevancy to the public" between the groups I like varies.

Of course, I have to like their music too - but if they're on a variety show and you could replace them with a sack of rocks + nothing would change, then I usually don't have interest in them.

In reality I don't care about popularity, the groups that really catch my attention are those who release music with sensitivity. I like it when songs make me feel, and not many kpop groups seem to do that tbh. 

 

Whether they're from a top, middle, or nugu agency it doesn't matter.

With Super Junior it was Kyuhyun (literally, Kyuhyun lol). With B1A4 it was their song, I thought it was catchy and fun. I first listened to Lovelyz because of the hype and really liked their music. 

 

I generally don't listen to groups that have strong hip-hop influences because that's why I stopped listening to western music on the radio tbh. Block B is probably the exception to that since while the 'rap line' is favored in terms of lines, their music itself features multiple other genres. 

 

I'm pickier about boy groups than girl groups tho.

I like groups who create stuff (videos, music, ect.) and who reach out to their fans.

They also have to have good visuals.
