With the dawn of the new year, veteran pop-rock act Southern All Stars have finally revealed some of the details surrounding their upcoming 15th studio album.  This as-yet-untitled release will be the band’s first new album in almost 10 years and is set to be released on March 31st in 4 versions:  a Limited Edition A  which contains a significant number of Goods housed in a special Box with the CD, a Limited Edition B which contains some of the Goods included in the Limited Edition A (no Box), a Regular Edition which contains only the CD, and a 2-disc Analog version of the album (which is set to release a week later on April 8th).

Included on the album’s track list are their previously released tracks “Peace to Hi-liteâ€, “Hotaruâ€, "Eikou no Otokoâ€, and “Tokyo VICTORYâ€, the “Ryusei Wagon†theme song “Iya na Koto Darake no Yo no Naka deâ€, the WOWOW 2015 CM song “Aloeâ€, and the NHK 90′s Image Song “Heiwa no Kaneganaruâ€.  The release’s title and its full listing of songs are set to be revealed at a later date.

Normally I don't post my own Arama articles here, but I'm SO excited!  The insanely long wait is finally almost over.

FINALLY! It's been long enough, their stuff is SO GOOD

Being a Southern All Stars' fan is basically suffering and waiting if you want new music - they almost always release great stuff with a lot of personality, but their album release pattern is... well, let's just say I'm not expecting their next one after this one for a long, long while.  Least that makes it easy to justify pre-ordering this immediately.

Though I'm most excited for the music (and the goods, since they're always surprisingly creative with that), I have to admit I will be curious to see how this album does on the charts, since there's a lot of things that point to it having the potential to smash.  I suppose we'll see how that cookie crumbles in April though.

It's like SAS just travels with you through the years. The next album, I fully expect, will be in my 30s or 40s.

You finally got the announcement you've been waiting for! I'll be sure to check this out since I enjoyed "Tokyo Victory" quite a bit.

How has the response been?

On a lot of services, something along the lines of "Finally!",  "This'll be so enjoyable", or  "Time to go to Tower".

But yeah, I'm happy since this announcement has been a long time coming; I love "Killer Street", and listened to the whole album again yesterday, but I could really use a new body of work from them.

Well I'm sure this album is going to be big. I actually can't wait until its release and I'm not really a fan.

Sazan album releases are kind of an event in-and-of themselves considering how infrequent they are, coupled with just how long they tend to be.  Looking at their last two actual studio albums, "Sakura" was 16 tracks long and "Killer Street" was a 30 track double-album.  Apparently, according to an MC at one of their New Years' concerts, this one is set to be 16-18 tracks again, so that's minimum 11 songs that'll be unheard when the actual album hits shelves, which is just... insane when you think about it.

That is pretty insane. Plus this is their first album in over 9 years so I'm sure the hype is building itself.
