  1. 1. What Happened? Most (Especially the Top) Entertainment Agencies Can Grab and See Talent Like *That*. SM, YG, DSP...etc.

I understand that yes, it's possible that these idols might not have reached or unlocked these potentials had they stayed in JYP and not been placed in the acts that they were, but I have not seen even close to the amount of trainees let go of by any other company that have achieved so much, been so popular, and been revealed to be as great and successful as those who have been let go of by JYP. I think that says something.

Here is a hopefully all inclusive list of notable idols who have either been let go of by or turned away from JYP:

I've bolded those I personally think are good idols that were pretty bad losses, (kindof just a cryin' shame to not have in most cases and others, a real cryin' shame), italicized on top of that those I think were huge losses (serious loss of possible personell that could have made JYP explode to heights they really missed, and bordered with asterisks those that I think were the biggest losses (straight and outright misses). I understand that JYP can't always see into the future and draw potential from what kid they see in front of them at the moment, but if some other company saw something in them then they could have too lol. :/ Kindof an unfortunate loss is all I'm saying I suppose.

Let's congratulate them on the successes, spots and grabs that they have made though, because let's be honest; some are pretty great:

I think some of those you've mentioned only tried for auditions though and was never really a trainee. They might or might not have undergone the official trainee course. I don't know what's with the recruitment team however.

I didn't know Bohyung tried for JYP. Thought she's only a YG trainee.

Not just blatant musical talent. This K-Pop lol. Most idols in your groups aren't super "talented" in that light.

I get you, but I didn't say just about trainees.

I knew about Hyolyn but never knew about IU (why jyp   :wth: ) .. also Shownu now in no mercy survival program was a trainee under jyp..

And it's not like she was bad lol.

But some of these trainees went on to become members of some of the more successful Kpop groups like BEAST, Infinite, Apink, 2NE1, Sistar, T-ara, B.A.P., 4minute, Kara, Secret, Orange Caramel, and IU. These groups are more relevant than most JYP groups. JYP let too much talent leave JYP and join other companies. If JYP had utilized these artists right, JYP would still be up there with SM and YG.

I know.

But those individual members have nothing to do with it because most aren't that talented. They just ended up in a group that happened to get a popular song that helped them become popular. Whether they stayed in JYP or not it wouldn't have made JYP better or worse.

Well a.) you don't know that and b.) all of those members are among the most popular of their groups and seriously add to their groups likability, buzz, popularity and success c.) why do keep bringing musical talent up

Most of these artists are talented, yes there are some who are less than others but you don't have to be the most talented member in a group to be popular, I think we all learned that much by now. Most of these former trainees are the faces of their groups and helped make their group popular and making their companies money where they could have been making JYP money.

thanks to JYP and president Hong, we have DooSeobKikWoon and Chorong and 2/5 members of 4minute :chu:

Isn't it all of 4minute. Hyuna is a former Wonder Girl and the other were trainees or auditioned for JYP. I think Gayoon was  probably a JYP trainee too since she was in a MV in 2008 with 2AM's Seulong.

Because the fact is most of these idols are disposable. There's nothing really special about them and they are replaceable. That's how the idol system is set up. Fans are fickle and will fall in/out of love with anyone. Them being in JYP or not wouldn't have made much of a difference. The problem with JYP is not their pool of talent/idols. The problem is their management. Doesn't matter how talented or pretty or likeable your idols are, if they're not managed well they and their groups will fail.

awwww Yoseob was let go because "He doesn't have JYP was looking for" That's what he said in their win2x interview. I wonder what they were looking for but it might have been good looks + height since they did debut 2pm and 2am. I'm pretty sure that took a blow on his confidence but it's nice to see where he is now and being one of the more recognized main vocals from idol groups. He even got to sing a duet with an award-winning soprano, Jo Sumi. That must have been a great honor for him.

Jay Park being 5'6 made into 2PM but he was the most talented member, easily the best singer and dancer in 2PM. Kikwang always reminded me of a less talented Jay Park. I don't understand why Yoseob didn't make into 2AM and Doojoon and Dongwoon in 2PM. Jokwon made into 2AM and he's Yoseob's height and Yoseob is better looking. JYP probably regrets a lot letting go of some of these trainees.

Well, wasn't jokwon 1 of the longest trainee so i guess JYP owed it to him and he's a good vocalist but I guess he got a manlier aura compared to a 16/17 yr old Yoseob that time. Probably but everything worked out. ^^

This is my first official post, so please forgive me if i'm not doing this correctly. I just had to say something to this cause,I do think JYP did lose out, He had talents he could have marketed well, each of these artist have stood out on there own and while in there groups. Its not like jyp didn't turn to managing 2pm or wonder girls well,  but the long term dynamic could have been great with some of these people as we in the long term these people turned out to have great success. What  2pm debut in 2008 and beast 2009..

Yes, 2PM debuted in 2008 and BEAST debuted in 2009, 13 months apart. What are your favorite groups?

Hm, I feel like many of the people mentioned got big more because of the way they are marketed than because of having an undeniable talented that would make them stand out regardless of the company they are part of. For example, I don't think IU (although she's talented) would've gotten this big if it wasn't for the way her company markets her so technically it wouldn't be a waste to let her go because JYP, SM, YG etc wouldn't know what to do with her to make her get on the level she's now.

IU is JYP biggest lost..!!

how come they rejected this cute talented girl???

if jpy can market her the way he market G.O.D./Rain, i'm sure IU can slaying in korean and international.

i dont know much about the other idols so i won't comment on them (aside from the obvious ones that jyp seriously missed out on) but man, hoya and dongwoo? these two are serious triple threats and it's sad that jyp probably dropped them because of visuals.  there's really nothing the rapper line can't do... daang jyp (but also thank you jyp)
